Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Walking with Alpacas

Brenda's wish was to walk with alpacas, so our lifestyle team spoke to Alpaca Adventure, who agreed to visit the home with not 1, but 2 alpacas. In addition to Brenda, other residents and staff also got the chance to enjoy the beautiful creatures.

Santa's Grotto

We opened our doors to Father Christmas for the 4th year running. Just like previous years, Santa opened his grotto for all the children in the area to come and visit him in. A great afternoon was had by all!

Visitor, Deborah McGowan, who brought her twins along, said she had a wonderful time meeting staff and residents, and that she wouldn't definitely bring them to visit again.

One of our volunteers has been helping residents to wrap tinsel for our Christmas decorations.

A Little Light Reading

A Little Light Reading

Retired Head Teacher, Derek, took a trip down memory lane by reading to some of the children from the local primary School. The children and staff were so thrilled with Derek’s talent to read aloud that they have invited him back.

Farewell, Lucy!

Staff and residents are sad to say goodbye to Lucy, our in-house Trainer.  Lucy has played a big part in Cherry Blossom, not only rolling out the training for all staff and volunteers, but also being on hand to help in all departments when required.

Lucy will be helping to run her family business. We wish her great satisfaction and know she will make a great success of her new role.
