Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Biscuit Decorating

Biscuit Decorating

Residents recently had a lot of fun decorating biscuits for themselves to enjoy with a nice cup of tea. This particular activity was hosted with aims of encouraging residents to socialise and helping to improve dexterity.

Emergency Services Visit

Emergency Services Visit

This member of the ambulance crew had just bought back a resident from the hospital and was just going on break, so we invited him to help himself to tea/coffee and cake and to feel free to use our café to rest. Activities Coordinator, Angela Macquillin, then presented him with a Barchester flask so he could take his drink with him, in case he got called away for an emergency, which often happens.

Book Club

Book Club

Book Club was started after Activities Coordinator, Angela Maquillin, was speaking to a few of our ladies about the book they were reading, which was called '84 Charing Cross Road'. They were so interested in the story that Angela offered to bring the book in and read it to them whilst they enjoyed tea and cake.

The ladies are enjoying the book so much that they would have her read it all day, every day if she could. They agreed that it would be read at about 4:00 p.m. on a Tuesday. They have almost finished the book and are now on the lookout for the DVD of the film, so they can compare the two.

Family members have also joined us and read a few pages for us every now and then.

Birthday Celebrations

Birthday Celebrations

A resident at Cherry Blossom Manor celebrated her birthday with several surprises, which included a canal ride, a big birthday cake and live music from her favourite entertainment duo, George & Ginger.

Royal Wedding Cake

Residents had a lot of fun making a royal wedding cake in recognition of Harry & Meghan's big day. Our ladies and gents enjoyed reminiscing about past royal events and discussing where they were and how they celebrated them.
