Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

A visit to the hairdresser
Vera is looking and feeling her best after her weekly visit to the hairdresser. She always looks forward to this and we think she looks beautiful - all ready for Christmas!
June's centre pieces
June is looking forward to Christmas lunch at Chater Lodge and is making some lovely decorations to be our table centre pieces. It's going to look fabulous!
Too good to eat
Toni and Stella worked so hard to create this wonderful gingerbread house at Chater Lodge. They had a lot of fun too, and enjoyed a few of the decorations to keep them going. We all love it and can't bear to eat it.
Vera's gingerbread house
Thanks to Vera we have a big gingerbread house decoration at Chater Lodge. Vera had so much fun painting it and everyone who sees it admires her creativity.
Vera shares her Christmas list with Santa
Santa had a pop-up grotto at Chater Lodge and met with Vera and other residents to discuss what they were hoping for this Christmas.

Residents at Chater Lodge were surprised and delighted to receive an advent calendar each from Zoe, the General Manager of our home.
