Activities at Challoner House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Elvis Day

Residents celebrated the King's birthday at Challoner House. We had a quiz, music, a singalong and loads of fun! We even tried Elvis' favourite food: banana and peanut butter sandwiches.

Christmas Ukuleles

We had so much entertainment in-house during December!

We were joined by a group that played ukuleles. All residents really enjoyed singing, playing and even dancing along. The music and the atmosphere were incredible!

We can’t wait for them to come again during our summer holidays!

Christmas Jumper Day

This year. we celebrated our Christmas Jumper Day on the 15th December. There were delicious homemade cupcakes and a prize for the most festive jumper. It was amazing to have residents, staff, volunteers and families involved. Well done to Heather for winning the competition!

Flower Arranging

Flower Arranging

Residents enjoyed making flowers arrangements with Zuzi. It involved making decisions, learning about flowers and how to look after them and what is best to use in different seasons. This time, they made Christmas-themed flowers. They looked brilliant in their rooms!

Cake Decorating

Cake Decorating

Residents helped to decorate a cake for Barchester's annual Christmas Cake Competition. It was a great team effort and we all had a good laugh!
