"Mum settled in much quicker than I thought. The staff care for her very well. They ensure she is clean and tidy, she has her medicine and the food is hot and nutritious. The activities are appropriate."

"Very happy Mum is at Challoner House. She is well looked after by all the staff, who are, without exception, lovely, kind, caring and attentive. Mum has been very happy since coming here in August 2024. Had an issue with mum receiving funded nursing care, but management pursued this, and it has all been sorted."

I have been visiting my friend at Challoner House over the last few months and I am very impressed with the home, the staff are so welcoming I always get offered a hot drink and fresh cake on my arrival, the home is clean and odour free and my friend is so happy here, they feel well cared for and safe, the residents all look well presented and happy. I would highly recommend this home to others.

Mother in law has been here for a few years. We feel that it’s a home from home as her room is similar to her old room. We feel very welcome by all the staff at the home when we go. There is an excellent choice of food for her and very happy we chose this home. The home is very clean and the gardens are very well maintained.

I am only able to visit every so often due to not being based in Hampshire, and it is so lovely to see the staff popping their head in to see how she is whilst we are there. Thank you!"

What a fantastic care home! I would happily recommended it to anybody. The staff are all fantastic and my mother is more than well looked after. The food is off restaurant quality and there is so much choice. The accommodation is spotless and the equipment is clean. We are sooooo happy that my mother is at Challoner. A great big thank you to all the staff.

My grandmother has been living here for a few years, and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff. The carers truly treat her like family, and the nursing team are always respectful, kind, and available whenever we have a question. Putting her into a home was something we never wanted to do, but this place has proved to be so different from what we imagined. It doesn’t feel like “just another care home” – it feels welcoming, supportive, and full of heart.
The staff also make us feel incredibly welcome whenever we visit. We’re always greeted warmly, often with a cup of tea and cake, and invited to join in with activities. It really feels like a community, not just for my grandmother but for us as well.
This is a wonderful place with truly wonderful staff, and we’re so grateful for the care and kindness they show every day.

"I came to Challoner House for a two week stay following a major operation to replace my left knee. My experiance was very good, I felt cared for and most of the staff were empathetic - I appreciate that shortness of staff is an issue, so it is difficult to get an immediate response (at times). I have one suggestionto make - There is no food or hot drink offered between 5.30 pm and 9 am the next day. Sometimes if you ask you can get a drink. But it is an awfully long time, and less articulate patients will not ask!"
