Activities at Challoner House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Challoner House Care Home

Chocolate Decorating Workshop

Chocolate Decorating Workshop

Residents kicked off the Easter celebrations by decorating their own chocolate bars. They decided what chocolate to use and what toppings would work well together.

,

Nutrition & Hydration Week

We had a surprise for residents on our pampering day: cucumber and mint water! As it was Nutrition & Hydration Week, residents tried different drinks and learnt how to stay hydrated.

,

International Women's Day

Ladies at Challoner House were spoiled on International Woman’s Day. They had their hair and nails done while having a glass of Prosecco with chocolates.

St Patrick's Day

We celebrated St Patrick’s Day with a quiz and beer tasting. Green beer wasn’t the favourite, but everyone had a very good time.

We also made our own St Patrick's Day-themed coasters in our arts & crafts session, which is very good for stimulating creativity and also for hand-eye coordination. On top of that, residents wereproud to show off their creations.

Pet-Assisted Therapy

Honey, our PAT dog, visits residents every Monday. Pet therapy is very beneficial for residents, as it encourages them to be social, aids with anxiety & stress and helps them to recall happy events and memories.
