Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.

Life at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Trip to Burghley House

Trip to Burghley House

We’ve been making the most of the sun while we can, so we went to Burghley Manor house, in Stamford, for a walk around the gorgeous gardens and pond, a coffee and delicious shortbread in the sun. We rounded the morning off with a drive through the park so that we could spot the wildlife.

Care Home Open Day at Braeburn Lodge

Care Home Open Day at Braeburn Lodge

In typical Braeburn fashion, we celebrated National Care Home Open Day by doing what we do best: partying! Steve Orton sang us some wonderful classic 1950s tunes and had us singing along with him. He had everyone dancing in their seats and on the dance floor; there wasn’t a still body in the house! All of that movement earned us a well-deserved cup of tea and a cake to round off the day. We all slept soundly that night.

Hunstanton

Hunstanton

Residents came out in force to enjoy a trip to Old Hunstanton. We dined on freshly caught fish and chips at the Ancient Mariners Restaurant, followed by a drive along the ocean road through Hunstanton. Afterwards, we stopped off at Norfolk Lavender for a coffee and a bit of shopping, by which time, the sun had parted the clouds, making for a lovely walk through their lavender gardens. It was lovely getting some sea air and exploring a place full of so many fond family memories.

Staff Appreciation Party

Staff Appreciation Party

In celebration of National Carers week, the residents at Braeburn threw a party for all of the members of staff across the home who work so hard every day and do such a wonderful job.

We served Prosecco cocktails and danced and sang along to music provided by Steve Francis; we even had some karaoke as the night wore on!

We highlighted the evening with a small award ceremony, with funny award titles for members of staff and trophies as prizes.

Braeburn Lodge Sponsors Deepings Rotary Club's 10K Road Race

Braeburn Lodge sponsored the 31st Deepings 10K Road Race.

The sponsorship covered the programmes/entry forms for the event.

A record number of runners entered into the race this year, which started at 11.00am on a sunny Sunday morning.

The race is organised by The Rotary Club of The Deepings.

7 of the residents went along and presented the runners with their medals at the finishing line.

The community were thrilled to see some of the residents supporting the event and presenting the medals at the end.

So many of the runners thanked the residents for attending and presenting them with their medals.

Residents Celebrate Their 63rd Wedding Anniversary

Residents Celebrate Their 63rd Wedding Anniversary

Mr. Michael Coates and Mrs Mary Coates celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary recently at Braeburn Lodge.

They celebrated with a lovely lunch prepared by our chef, surrounded by cards, flowers and balloons.

The staff and residents joined Michael and Mary for afternoon tea.

Mr. & Mrs Coates were rather overwhelmed by the attention they received, but they both had a lovely day.
