The Cedars Care Home
The Cedars Care Home in Bourne
Cedars Bourne is a beautiful and spacious care home in the scenic market town of Bourne, Lincolnshire, surrounded by mature gardens with views of The Bourne Abbey Church. Our home offers high quality residential, dementia and nursing care in a warm and friendly environment.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
There are 55 bedrooms across one residential unit and one nursing unit. Spacious lounges, dining rooms and quiet areas are situated in each wing of the home. There are also picturesque grounds: the meandering Bourne Eau river flows through the garden and there is a sheltered decking area, which is perfect for outdoor socialising and enjoying the garden.
Trained chefs cook a variety of nutritious and tasty meals to provide residents with appealing daily menus, with personal preferences and individual dietary requirements always being considered.
Our activities team oversees a busy programme of events, planned with input from residents and relatives, to ensure everyone's social needs are being met and exceeded. There are daily in-home activities, as well as regular excursions and big events for special occasions.
