Kristel Bingley

General Manager

Hello. My name is Kristel and I am the General Manager here at The Cedars. Welcome to our website.

I joined the team at The Cedars as a Care Assistant in 2000 and progressed to Senior Carer. In 2008 I undertook my nursing training and was delighted to return as a Registered General Nurse in 2011. I am proud to have progressed to Deputy Manager in June 2019 and then to General Manager in February 2021. Delivering high standards of person-centred care to our residents is very important to me, as well as maintaining the close relationships our team has with residents' families and friends. I feel very proud to be leading such a passionate and dedicated team, who strive to maintain our resident's safety and well-being. Please feel free to contact the home if you require any support or information where I will be happy to accommodate a visit or chat.

Outside of work family is very important to me and I love returning to France to visit my family and friends as I spent 10 wonderful years of my childhood in Brittany. I have a Lhasa Apso called Toby who I adore and who always greets me excitedly when I get home from work.

Amanda Barnes

Senior Care Assistant

Hello. I am Amanda and I am a Senior Care Assistant at The Cedars where I work mainly on our residential community. I joined Barchester Healthcare in 2000 as a Carer at the nearby Wood Grange care home before transferring to The Cedars in 2001. I was promoted to Senior Care Assistant in 2008 and I have completed an NVQ3 in Health & Social Care. I enjoy my role because I like being helpful and am a naturally caring person. I particularly like helping people first thing in the morning by making sure they look nice and feel well. I have a chat to help them feel ready for the day ahead. I am usually very cheerful and I like making people laugh. When I am not at work I am busy looking after my young family.

Dawn Parrott

Activities Coordinator

Hello. I am Dawn and I’m an Activities Coordinator at The Cedars. I have worked here since 2007, when I joined as a Carer. I moved to the Activities Team in 2016 where I have found my passion. I enjoy getting to know residents and enriching their everyday lives by arranging daily activities to meet their creative, sensory, physical, mental, social and spiritual needs. When I am not at work I love going for a good walk with my dogs or going away for holidays in the sun.

Rich Parrott

Head Chef

Hi. I'm Rich, the Head Chef at The Cedars in Bourne. I've been a chef all my working life and have over 30 years' experience having trained in the Navy. I pride myself on serving high quality, well balanced, attractive food. I know that food is a huge part of our residents' daily lives and it is important for their families to know that they are eating well. I get to know our residents so that I can accommodate food preferences, allergies, nutritional requirements and swallowing consistencies. I also make sure there are plenty of treats, and cakes for birthdays and other celebrations. I also support the Activities Team by providing ingredients for food-related activities.

Head Housekeeper

Hello. I am Donna. Since joining The Cedars team in 2013 I have always taken pride in delivering high standards. As Head Housekeeper I always provide a high quality service to residents and follow all protocols relating to hygiene and infection control. I enjoy working closely with my housekeeping colleagues and we always make residents' wellbeing our priority. I like getting to know residents' families too. The Cedars is a great place to be and I love our home.

Sally Russell

Administrator

 

Hello. I am Sally and I joined The Cedars Bourne in 2021 as the home’s Administrator. I am pleased to support residents and their families with anything relating to communications, finances or administration. If you have any questions about these aspects it is probably me you need to speak to. I have previous experience of working for local government, a mental health service, a discharge team in a hospital, and a small care home group. I enjoyed all these roles as I felt I was helping people to get the support they needed, but at The Cedars Bourne I have more opportunity to get to know residents and their families. I like being part of a team that makes sure people enjoy a quality lifestyle with friends around them. In my spare time I look after my two cats, three hens and a large garden. I also enjoy reading.

Simon Orme

Head of Maintenance

Hello. I'm Simon and I joined the team at The Cedars in 2015 as a Carer. I'm a really practical person and in 2020 I became the Head of Maintenance. I use all my practical skills but still work with the same great team and the wonderful residents I have got to know so well. I oversee the routine maintenance of equipment and systems, safety inspections, liaising with external contractors, driving the minibus, fixing and replacing things, maintaining the decor and working with the gardener to keep our outside spaces looking lovely. When I am not at work I enjoy weightlifting and watching football.
