Activities at Braeburn Lodge Care Home

Our dedicated activities team are constantly dreaming up new and wonderful ways to support and stimulate the residents we look after. From trips to crafts, parties to skittles, musical performances and quizzes, we include something for everyone and pride ourselves on including everyone into the fun. We have a brilliant team of volunteers who help us to deliver more trips, support us at events and pop in for a cup of tea and chat. We have pet therapy at least once per week (sometimes twice!) and we take advantage of every school break by holding large scale events that we can invite families with children to. We have been developing ties with our neighbours since we first opened and thanks to this, we have successfully brought together our residents with local churches, choirs, Brownies groups, and schools. Whatever your interests are, here at Braeburn, there's something for everyone.

An Elvis Dinner

An Elvis Dinner

We braved the winter night to venture out to the local Boundary fish and chip shop one evening to enjoy a fabulous fish and chip dinner with the wonderful sounds of Elvis as we ate. There was plenty of singing and dancing in our chairs through the meal, but we pulled out all the stops after dessert as we took to the dance floor to tap our feet with the other party goers. We had a truly fantastic evening and we can’t wait to do it again in the new year.

Linchfield Primary School

Linchfield Primary School

Our last and certainly not least visit from local schools came from Linchfield Primary, who brought their choir of 36 students! Their harmonies were wonderful and their singing divine. We could have listened all day to their lovely voices and were so pleased to talk with them before they went back to school. A huge thank you to Linchfield Primary School for coming out to see us.

Inspire Dance School

Inspire Dance School

Our local dance school, Inspire Dance, came to perform for us - and they were wonderful! We all got into the dancing spirit and were tapping our toes as we admired their brilliant routines. The children performed their unique solo pieces for us before ending on a marvelous group performance in the Christmas spirit. Thank you to Inspire Dance School and parents for bringing your children to see us.

Deeping St James Primary School

Deeping St James Primary School

We welcomed a selection of the choir from Deeping Saint James Primary School recently and they sang the most wonderful songs to us as we ate our lunch. The fantastic dinner entertainment didn’t end there though as, after the performance, the children mingled and had lovely conversations with residents. A massive thank you to the children and adults of Deeping St James Primary school for including us on your caroling tour!

Headstart Nursery

Headstart Nursery

We welcomed Headstart Nursery into our home and they entertained us by singing some lovely Christmas tunes. They followed this up by enjoying some tasty biscuits and juice with us afterwards. A big thank you to Headstart Nursery for their visit!
