Activities at Bloomfield Care Centre

We host a wide range of activities and events here for residents to stimulate them both physically and mentally. Relatives can often be found taking part; for example, they will some times join us on minibus trips and to enjoy entertainers and musical events. There is regular involvement from the local community, with ministers holding services for us weekly, visits from our PAT dog, and a good volunteer network. Additionally, we have recently opened a Dementia Café, which is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Activities are an essential part of residents' lives, so we strive to keep them active with a focus on what they can achieve and that life here is fun.

Cathy Jallow

Activities Coordinator

Hello, My name is Cathy and I am the Activities Coordinator at Bloomfield care centre.

I joined the team here at Bloomfield in August 2017 as carer and have since moved into Activities.

The Activities role is varied and one which allows me to plan amazing activities for our residents to ensure their days are filled with lots of fun, laughter and social interaction.

I am always looking for new activity ideas as well as new places to visit, so please give me a call to discuss our life enrichment programme further.

Life at Bloomfield Care Centre

Wig Party

Staff and Residents had so much fun at their annual wig party. Everyone got involved for the afternoon and really lifted everyone's spirits.

Treats for Everyone

Staff at Bloomfield Care Centre in Paulton recently enjoyed treats which included handmade soap, drinks, health bars, snacks and biscuits. Lilly, a 14 year old student, who lives locally, recognised the need to spread cheer to our front line staff. Lilly contacted local business’s, asking them to give their support at this difficult time, she was inundated with gifts and was delighted to be able to supply Bloomfield staff with such wonderful treats.

Deliveries of Thanks

Staff we lucky enough to receive lots of chocolate goodies in the post, along with notes of thanks and encouragement for all the great work they are doing. It really brightened every ones day.

Celebrating Nurses week.

We made sure our Nurses knew just how much we appreciate them not just now but all the year round. Bloomfield have a fabulous team of nurses that always go over and above for each and every resident in their care.

True Community Spirit.

Staff and residents were lucky enough to be treated to lots of yummy pizzas from their local Dominoes pizza parlour. They know how hard everyone is working right now and wanted to give something back. Everyone in the home was over the moon with the delivery & it brightened up the day.

Easter Celebrations

Staff at Bloomfield recently enjoyed a gift of sweet treats that were donated by a local businessman, Ryan Church of Riverside Cleaning Contractors, who treated staff to a box of eggs.

General Manager, Gabor Benke, delighted staff and residents by dressing as the Easter bunny for the occasion. In these unprecedented times, gestures such as these boost the morale of our dedicated teams. Staff and residents had great fun waving to Gabor as he hopped through the home.

Our residents really enjoyed the Easter period, which included a service provided via email from Rev. Martin Slocombe. It was held in the unit walkways, so we could adhere to social distancing guidelines.
