Food at Bloomfield Care Centre

 I have proudly worked for Barchester for the past 18 years, starting my career in 2004 as a Second Chef at Bloomfield. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience within the organisation and have thoroughly enjoyed developing my skills while supporting residents with nutritious, well-prepared meals. As part of my professional development, I successfully completed the Barchester Chef Academy, which further strengthened my knowledge, confidence, and passion for cooking to a high standard.
Alongside my main role, I am always happy to support where needed. I regularly volunteer at another local Barchester home, helping with activities and spending time with residents to ensure they feel engaged, valued, and supported. I am also a qualified minibus driver and enjoy helping residents take part in outings and trips, enabling them to stay connected with the local community.
My greatest passion in the kitchen is pastry and cake-making, and I take particular pride in creating homemade desserts that bring comfort and enjoyment to residents. Outside of work, I love spending time with my grandchildren and family. My personal interests include steam trains, collecting and learning about World War II memorabilia, and enjoying family holidays whenever possible.
