Activities at Bloomfield Care Centre

We host a wide range of activities and events here for residents to stimulate them both physically and mentally. Relatives can often be found taking part; for example, they will some times join us on minibus trips and to enjoy entertainers and musical events. There is regular involvement from the local community, with ministers holding services for us weekly, visits from our PAT dog, and a good volunteer network. Additionally, we have recently opened a Dementia Café, which is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Activities are an essential part of residents' lives, so we strive to keep them active with a focus on what they can achieve and that life here is fun.

Cathy Jallow

Activities Coordinator

Hello, My name is Cathy and I am the Activities Coordinator at Bloomfield care centre.

I joined the team here at Bloomfield in August 2017 as carer and have since moved into Activities.

The Activities role is varied and one which allows me to plan amazing activities for our residents to ensure their days are filled with lots of fun, laughter and social interaction.

I am always looking for new activity ideas as well as new places to visit, so please give me a call to discuss our life enrichment programme further.

Life at Bloomfield Care Centre

Sherry O' Clock

After lunch there is always time for feet up and a favourite tipple. What better excuse than on a cold rainy day shared with good friends.

Pamper Time

Even if the hairdresser cant be in at the moment, we still make sure our lovely residents get to feel pampered and spoilt. Everyone gets involved to make sure they still look fabulous.

Weekly Chair Exercises

We understand the importance of keeping fit, active and moving. Each week residents enjoy a music and movement class. Complete with giant inflatable balls and their favourite tunes.

Valentines Cards

Our residents and the local school children have built a great relationship and they really enjoy being able to work together and get involved. All the children at Paulton Primary made, wrote and delivered cards to them. It lights up their faces when they receive them.

Zoom Poetry with local school

Residents were treated to a valentines poetry concert with the local school. Everyone watched it on the big screen so they could all share the joy. With this lovely lady enjoying her own private viewing too.

Muffin Delivery

Our local bakers recently sent this fantastic hamper filled with donuts, cookies and lots more tantalising sweets treats. Our Residents and staff really enjoyed them, there was even plenty left over for the next day so everyone enjoyed afternoon tea.
