Activities at Beaufort Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Beaufort Grange Care Home

Remembrance Day

Residents and staff at Beaufort Grange celebrated Remembrance Day at the home by creating a poppy display to remember those who lost their lives in the war. Everyone also took part in the two minute silence to show their respect.

Carer of the Year

Antoneta Burgess has beaten all the competition to be crowned National Carer of the Year in the Barchester Care Awards 2021.

The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 12,000 residents living in Barchester’s 248 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Categories range from ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ to ‘Dementia Care Champion’ and ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’.

More than 2,900 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Antoneta is over the moon to have been named the national winner, beating hundreds of other nominees to the coveted title.

Quiz Time!

Steve, who runs art classes every Tuesday, came twice to do a great quiz with some of our residents. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the quiz and our eventual winner was Terry! He accepted to share his prize with the others. Well done Terry!

Pet Therapy at Beaufort

Lola, a resident’s family dog, was our dog therapy for this month. She is full of energy and runs really fast! She used to come and greet our residents before lockdown and they are now beyond excited to see their fluffy friend again.

Dan the Barber

This month, Dan- who is our activity assistant - did a brilliant job as a hairdresser and as a barber. Our residents looked very great after their haircuts and they all loved his work! Well done Dan!

Entertainers are Back!

We were pleased to welcome Cate for an online Zoom concert. She covered some songs from the '50s, '60s and '70s and all our residents enjoyed it. Some even sang, which was really nice to listen to.
