Activities at Beaufort Grange Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hello, I am Lucy and I have worked at Beaufort Grange since 2015, starting as a care assistant I have progressed to senior care assistant and now into my role as an Activities Assistant. It's always a pleasure to keep the residents updated with community activities. What I enjoy about my job is making everyone laugh and keeping residents and staff entertained. You will often hear me singing as I walk down the corridor!

Work Experience Student Runs Art Therapy Classes

Today at Beaufort Grange we welcomed Annabel who is currently on her work experience week with Barchester Healthcare. Annabel is a year 10 student at Collegiate School with a real interest in art, she held two art therapy workshops. Juanita joined Annabel for both sessions, creating some charcoal drawings, while Alan and John both painted landscapes. The workshops were very relaxed and as always getting round a table gives everyone the chance to chat. Thank you Annabel for running such enjoyable sessions.

Celebrating our Nurses on International Nurses' Day

Beaufort Grange celebrated International Nurses Day, this is marked every year on May 12th as this was Florence Nightingale's Birthday, the founder of modern nursing.  To show our appreciation residents made each nurse a personalised card to present along with a gift.  Thank you so much to all our wonderful nurses for your dedication and how you make a difference to our residents lives every day.

Beaufort Grange's Fundraising Walk

Yesterday our wonderful volunteer Jackie along with friends and family completed their fundraising walk around Stoke Park in memory of Jackie's mum Jean Weeks. Jackie is fundraising for a sensory trolley for the home for those living with dementia.

Due to the weather we unfortunately had to postpone the residents' walk yesterday. We will confirm a new date soon and very much look forward to using the accessible path to take residents out to this beautiful park on our door step.

After the walk Jackie's husband Tim spent time with our gentleman residents having a good chat, which was greatly enjoyed by all.

Yesterday was The Big Help Our across the UK and we are so grateful for Tim's time and Jackie's weekly volunteering visits.

Weekend of Coronation Celebrations

Beaufort Grange residents had a wonderful weekend celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camila.  The atmosphere was full of joy and excitement as we reminisced about past coronations and talked about the history behind this grand occasion. We enjoyed watching the ceremony on television and indulging in some scrumptious cakes fit for a king. Our residents looked their best wearing their finest attire and finished the day with a music performance by John Pendlington.

On Sunday the sun shone for the Beaufort Grange garden party and performance from the D-Day Dollies.  There was a BBQ, draw of our raffle as well as the official naming of our Corgi, Louie!

International Fire Fighters Day at Beaufort Grange

4th May is International Fire Fighters Day. It is a day to honour and reflect on those who have died in the line of duty. It is also an opportunity to thank and show fire fighters our appreciation for all they do every day. Beaufort Grange's Activity Coordinator Lynnett contacted our local fire station in Southmead to see if the team could call in and today we were delighted to welcome Watch Manager, Chris along with crew members Danielle and Charles from Avon Fire and Rescue Service.

Chris, Danielle and Charles spent time chatting with residents over a coffee, then we all went outside to have a tour of the fire engine. The infrared camera was of real interest, along with the very powerful cutting equipment. Thank you so much for visiting Beaufort Grange and thank you for all you do for Bristol and its' residents.
