Begbrook House Care Home in Frenchay near Bristol

We are planning the re-development of Begbrook House Care Home as the facilities and environment at the home are not aligned to the standards we expect for our residents and staff who care for them. Due to the significant work needed we are sorry to say that we are not able to do this whilst residents are living in the home, so have made the difficult decision to close the home whilst we do this. We currently do not know how long the works will take to complete and will update you as soon as we do.

Excellently situated, Begbrook House Care Home is set in Frenchay village, on the outskirts of Bristol. It is located near to Begbrook Green Park and Frenchay Hospital, and not far from all the amenities of Fishponds. We offer high quality nursing care and respite support for those who require shorter stays.

We have 32 bedrooms offering nursing care, all on ground floor level. The rooms are set across three wings, each with it’s own lounge room, and there are two dining spaces for residents to enjoy their meals in comfort. All furnishings and decor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard. All rooms have doors that open on to our splendid garden and paved walkways, meaning they can enjoy the grounds at their leisure.

Each day our chef prepares restaurant-style meals combining variety with a balanced diet and an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. And we can cater to any dietary or health requirements, however complex.

As well as our team of carers and nurses, we have regular visits from GPs, physiotherapists, podiatrist, opticians and other professionals who provide services to residents at the home. We also have a hairdresser who visits every Monday to pamper residents. And everyone gets stuck in together – whether to serve breakfast or help  out with an activity.

Activities vary each week: from bingo and knitting club to sing-alongs and special events. And everything’s flexible – if it’s sunny we try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day. We’ve built excellent links to the community, allowing residents to continue their lives outside the home with ease. We’ll often take residents to the park and local pubs and restaurants. Some residents have arrangements with relatives to go out on a regular basis, and we assist with that wherever possible.
