Activities at Woodhorn Park Care Home

Activities make up the most important part of all our days at Woodhorn park, so we ensure a variety of social events are available that reflect the interests of all the people we support. In our Memory Lane community, we have group conversations and regularly reminiscence about past experiences, which is something that people living with dementia really enjoy. Many residents love gardening, baking, outings, pet care and gentle exercise, which we provide, along with many other wholesome activities, as it is essential that life at Woodhorn Park is fun and active.

Carer's Week

Carer's Week

The management team would like to say a huge thank you to the care staff for all the dedication and support that they provide for residents and loved ones.

We are now 10-60-6 accredited!

We are now 10-60-6 accredited!

Woodhorn Park has achieved accreditation for a new standard of dementia care which was developed by dementia care specialists at Barchester Healthcare.

The 10-60-6 dementia programme will replace Barchester's current dementia care programme in order to ensure that the care services provided by our Memory Lane communities for people living with dementia are the best in the sector.

A huge well done to all of the staff, residents & families who have been involved in the journey to reach accreditation.

Coffee Morning

Coffee Morning

Nicola and the team raised £110 at our coffee morning in aid of the NSPCC, which was arranged by Woodhorn and the local police. Residents, staff, police and visitors all had a great time.

Comic Relief

Comic Relief

For Red Nose Day, we hosted a coffee morning and managed to raise over £120 for a good cause.

High Tea

High Tea

For Nutrition & Hydration Week, folks at Woodhorn Park enjoyed a 'high tea,' which included pureed and fortified foods for residents who require soft diets, such as smoothies.

Christmas Party

Christmas Party

We hosted a big 1950s-themed Christmas party involving local care providers that was organised by Mind Active. Unfortunately, the singer they had arranged to perform, cancelled at the last moment, so one of Woodhorn Park’s lovely Care Assistants, Anna Foster, who was in her 50s attire, stepped in and saved the day, and sang for over a hundred people from the local community.
