Staff at Meadow Park are celebrating after our home performed strongly in Your Care Rating 2017, a nationwide survey of care home residents, families and friends. The results show we were given an overall score of 904 out of 1,000 by family and friends. You can read the report here.

We are proud to be one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s 10-60-06 Dementia Care programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by residents here at Meadow Park. We have also just received our latest CQC inspection report, where we achieved 3 'Good' outcomes.

Meadow Park is a purpose-built home offering 24-hour residential care to older people, including people living with dementia, who are supported in a specialised Memory Lane Community. We're located in Bedlington, near to both Newcastle and Morpeth and close to the coast, too. We have our own gardens, which many residents help care for.

Our approach to care is based on a right to dignity, choice and independence. Every resident has a care plan, which records needs, likes and dislikes. It forms the basis for planning mealtimes so that everyone gets what they most like to eat, for individual and group activities and for helping sustain social lives. Residents and relatives are at the centre of the care planning process, which is reviewed at least monthly, and a nominated key worker helps to ensure that residents and families have someone they know they can turn to for advice and help.

It’s always best to visit yourself and come to your own conclusions: we welcome visitors and calls.

Suzanne Hudson

General Manager

Hi, my name is Suzanne, and I am the General Manager here at Meadow Park. I hope you find everything you need on our website!

Since leaving school in 1984, I have worked in various settings that provided care and support to those in need, from supporting children under 18 years with physical disabilities to caring for babies when parents required respite.

I initially became a cook at a local nursing home, where I would manage the kitchen and staff, before I decided to broaden my skills and experiences and take up care support roles. I achieved all relevant training and management qualifications, including RMA Level 4, and became a Registered Manager in 2007 in a residential care setting that specialised in supporting people living with dementia.
