Chester Court Care Home in Bedlington
Chester Court is a 41-bedded, purpose-built nursing home situated in the heart of Bedlington, a picturesque former mining village, within easy travelling distance of both Newcastle and Tynemouth.
The home offers services to people with a variety of complex needs, including frail older people, people with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease or palliative care needs and people who are minimally conscious.
Chester Court’s care is based on careful assessment and care planning, using the homes strong links to local primary care services where necessary, and planned on the basis of risks, needs and maximising independence and quality of life. Well-trained and well-supervised specialist staff work together with residents and their relatives towards planned goals. A relative also told the visiting inspector, “The care is very good, I even recommend it to other people.”

Types of care
Chester Court provides person-centred nursing and residential care for the elderly and those with physical disabilities. We work with individuals and their families to identify all individual care requirements. It is important to our team that the care we provide is of the highest quality for each resident and allows them to maintain their individuality. We also have regular visits from opticians and chiropodists or, alternatively, provide transport to a specialist of their choice. We offer a variety of outings for residents as we realise the importance of maintaining links in the local community. Our latest CQC inspection rated Chester Court as 'good' in all areas.Read more

My name is Pam Towers and I have been the General Manager at Chester Court since December 2008.
I am a qualified nurse and have worked in Elderly Care since 1985, both within the health service and the private sector. I live in Blyth and have a good knowledge of the surrounding area for business and pleasure. I have worked in the area for 30+ years, and I have a good working relationships with the local hospitals, community teams, social services and GP practices. I have been able to become involved in planning excursions for the residents, either to places of interest or extended shopping trips and often go along for the ride.
I have 3 dogs of my own, and welcome dogs as visitors to Chester Court. Most of our canine friends do not go past my office without being given a treat. I love the garden and can often be seen, particularly on the weekend, pottering around the Chester Court Garden, working alongside the residents and/or relatives.Get in touch Meet my team
