Our team

All the team here at Woodhorn Park play a huge part in the admission process when a new resident moves into the home. Residents are first introduced to their named Senior Carer and key worker and then shown to their room, which is made to feel homely and eventually will be decorated to the individual's personal preference by the Maintenance Manager. Staff are dedicated to providing the best possible environment for those we support. Our team's primary concern is to make sure each person we care for is completely satisfied with their stay at Woodhorn Park.

Joanne Young

General Manager

I have been with Barcheseter Healthcare since 2001, when I started my employment at Woodhorn Park as a Laundry Assistant.

I then moved on to become a Care Assistant and then became a Senior Care Assistant all in the space of two months. I completed my NVQ 2 and 3 as well as my Assessers Course which enabled me to transfer to the new home in Ashingtron called Station Court to help with the set up and assist the Manager where I was promoted to Deputy Manager. I then went onto complete my Level 4 NVQ and Registered Managers Award which enabled me in the running of Station Court in the absence of a General Manager I was twice made up to Acting General Manager at Station Court.

In 2007 I transferred back to Woodhorn Park as Deputy Manager assisting the General Manager until January 2012 when I was promoted to General Manager where I now still reside.
