This morning I witnessed staff deal wth a number of difficult situations. They dealt with them professionally quietly and with compassion even though they were under a lot of pressure from the situation I could not fault any of them. Please pass on my highest regards to staff this morning dealing with the unfolding situation this morning . They made sure other residents were not upset by the situation. "I have had interaction with this care home since 2021 when my mum was a resident, with dementia, until her death in 2024 and now my aunt is a resident. My aunt became a resident in Feb, during her time she became ill,the care home staff quickly identified her illness and she was admitted to hospital. On her return she has thrived under the exceptional care of the staff from the manager, to maintaince, carers and housekeeping. She is now walking unaided, joins in with the varied activities laughing and enjoying life. Thank you Emma and everyone for giving us back our auntie!!"

As part of my A level health and social care course, our class went to visit the home to learn about personalisation. when we got there it was evident from the beginning. The staff were very lovely and accommodating and centre of all their care around the residents. The home was very clean and well presented and you could see that the residents felt comfortable and safe within the home. If I had a family member in need of care and support Woodhorn Park would be my first point of call.

I attended an event at Woodhorn park and it was a delight to see so many residents and their families enjoying an evening filled with music and singing. Everyone was included and the needs met of all the residents. The staff were so kind and caring and a shout goes out to Maddison as she danced and sang with them all. The smiles on their faces were a joy to see and it brought a tear to my eye.

My mother is in this care home and I wouldn’t have her in any other place , everyone that works there are lovely , professional, and looks after my mum so well , accommodating her needs to a high standard.

As soon as we met Emma Saunders, the General Manager, and her team took the time to truly understand my uncle, his routines and preferences, and under her compassionate leadership my uncle has settled in beautifully: he’s always clean and well-presented, his room feels warm and homely, and staff treat him with the dignity and respect he deserves. From the very first guided tour visit to our latest visit to my uncle, Woodhorn Park has exceeded every expectation. The safety, dignity, person‑centred attention, and warmth have given our family peace of mind. I’m grateful for the care my uncle receives and wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone looking for the very best care for their loved one.

I am so reassured to say that since my friend moved into Woodhorn Park, she has looked brighter, more engaged, and genuinely happier. The staff have been incredible, they’ve learned her favourite routines, supported her to eat and join small group activities, and treated her with such kindness and respect every single day. Her appearance has visibly improved, too: She’s well-kept, walks with more confidence, and smiles often, something I hadn’t seen in months. It truly feels like she’s thriving in an environment designed to support her dementia needs while preserving her dignity and personality. Woodhorn Park has given us precious peace of mind, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

"My mum recently had a six week respite stay at Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home. This enabled Mum to recover from a long hospital stay in a safe, friendly, comfortable environment. When you first walk into the home, it has a lovely atmosphere, the residents look happy, the staff are helpful and friendly. The home is extremely clean, well-furnished and nothing is too much trouble should you need anything.
