"Mum has only been in for twelve days and the change we have seen from her last home within your group is very noticeable. She is more engaged and brighter in herself and this has been very enlightening for us. Joining in and being sociable with other residents is nice to see. The management and team are a credit to your organisation."

"Staff are always welcoming when entering the home. Happy to give updates and feedback for Mum. Mum has taken time to settle in but only to be expected with her dementia. She has good days and bad but the staff are always on hand to diffuse a situation and take her mind off being in a care home."

"I am always welcomed by the staff and feel very comfortable visiting Mam, the staff do a difficult job but always seem upbeat, they are knowledgeable when I ask about Mam's care which of course for me is reassuring. One member of staff last week jokingly said your Mam has been great all week but it's bath day, and that might change, I had to smile knowing how stubborn Mam can be, thank you all so so much."

"The staff couldn't do enough for my dad. All the staff including management have all gone out of their way to make sure my dad's needs were met. There was an issue with my dad with another resident and was dealt with promptly. Couldn't thank them enough for everything they did to resolve the situation. Barchester should be over the moon to have staff like these."

"As a family, we could not be more pleased with the care my dad receives here, he has been in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home since last year and settled in straight away with the help from the staff and senior management with a dementia care plan in place. All the staff are very attentive, caring and involve my dad as well as all the other residents on a daily basis doing different activities and fun days. All our family are kept informed on how my dad is doing and make us feel welcome every time we visit, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Every time you go in everyone in the home is smiling, happy, clean and having fun, it's lovely to see especially to see my dad so happy, we would highly recommend Barchester Woodhorn park care home."

"It's never nice having to make a decision about a loved one being placed in a care home. But unfortunately, it had to be made. I looked at several care homes in the area and also the reviews - then took my mam to view it. Long story short, Mam has now been in Woodhorn Park Care Home since February 2022. Yes, at first, we were all apprehensive regarding her needs and settling in. And yes, it did take a short while to settle, but we knew it was the best, safest place for her to be. We were losing sleep in case she wondered off while living alone at her house. She now can't wait to return there and see staff and friends when we take her out for the day etc; all the staff are very pleasant and approachable, and it does feel like a family environment. Activities are planned and appropriate for the residents, and once you see the smiles on their faces, you realise although a tough decision, it was the best for everyone concerned."

"The home is not in the best of repair. Some areas are damp. My relative is not always cleaned properly and often has other people's clothes on, even though they are labeled. Standards have slipped from when we first had to come to the home."

"My mam has been in Woodhorn Park for three years. Our family are very satisfied with the care and support that Mam receives. The staff are very approachable and understanding of the care Mam needs. Having a debilitating disease, Mam needs 24-hour care. We have faith and confidence in the care Woodhorn Park provides."

"The care home has been fantastic with our mother. Anything she needs or wants, they do; they have also rung myself if my father hasn't turned up to visit Mam (Dad is in poor health). They have also taken time to ask about my own health as it's a very stressful time with both parents."

From the manager to all the care staff and support staff have gone above and beyond to assist my parents to settle into their new home and care for them. "My mum spent a week at Woodhorn Park before Christmas to allow me to have a break. I was worried as she had never been in a care home before. However I need not have worried, the home was outstanding. She loved every minute of it. The staff were amazing and made her feel very welcome. There were lots of activities to join in with and she loved the ‘ banter’ with the staff and other residents. She was very happy there which was a relief for me and has asked when will she be going again. I can only highly recommend Woodhorn Park."

"The home itself is bright, fresh and looks welcoming. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They are taking good care of my dad putting in measures to let them know when he is on the move (fall risk, no dementia) as he is reluctant to use his call button. The food seems varied and balanced."

"My mother, who will be 97 in January has been in the home for 9-years. Although getting on in years, she is always cheerful when we visit. The staff at the home are very caring and could not do enough for you. The new covid designated visitor suite is very comfortable, under the circumstances, but it does allow us to see our loved ones. Hopefully, things will get back to normal in 2021."

"When my mam was living at the home and deteriorating with her dementia the whole family were under extreme stress and worry. My mam is always underweight and we tried everything we could to make sure she had her meals and maintained her weight with help from all professionals. We couldn't cope and now she is happy, eating and gaining weight. The pressure is off the family."

They all showed patience, kindness and compassion throughout his stay. The service and care they provide are amazing and I would highly recommend their facility."

"My Dad has been a resident at Woodhorn Park since February 2019. I have nothing but praise for this lovely, caring and supportive home. My Dad has stayed in several homes for respite over the last few years, including some very costly ones, but this home knocks the socks off all of them all. The main difference is the staff, they really do care! They got to know and understand my Dad very quickly. They know what he likes and what he doesn’t and will always try to accommodate him. He loves them and knows he can ask for help or even a chat at any time. We regularly hear or observe the staff helping other residents when they are unaware we are there, they show nothing but respect and kindness to everyone. The care, guidance and support they have offered my Mam and I has been exceptional and we are truly grateful to them. The home is very clean, in fact always being cleaned when I visit. The food is all freshly cooked from fresh ingredients and always plentiful. Overall a great home."

"My Mother has been a resident at Woodhorn Park Care Home, Ashington since Sept 21 2018. My brother and I visited nine homes in our area, and there was only one we unanimously agreed would be a good fit for our Mother: Woodhorn Park. I visit three times a week and I watch and I listen. I’m incredibly impressed with the quality of care. Their dementia expertise, kindness and respectfulness are a pleasure to observe. Meals are prepared fresh by a chef - not processed/microwaved. The home is typically immaculate and well-maintained. There’s even a hair salon. There are lots of activities too including holiday celebrations (Remembrance Day window displays prepared by a member of staff, were a real tribute to residents), musicians, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and tea dances. Any (minor) issues are addressed through our wonderful care manager. If you are looking at care homes, I recommend you do your research - then come to Woodhorn Park to see the difference."

"My mum has only been in Woodhorn Park for 6 weeks. What a brilliant place. All the staff are so caring and helpful. All my mum's needs are quickly identified and addressed. She was registered quickly with doctors and a dentist, assessed for Parkinson's and the falls clinic was contacted for an assessment. She has a bed sensor now. Nothing is too much trouble for the team of dedicated staff. They are always aware and all information is passed on. It's a longer travel than the last care home but what an improvement. I am glad my mum is somewhere she is being well looked after and cared for properly. Such a relief to find a suitable care home. I can't thank the staff enough, they are brilliant."

"My husband is only 58 with rapid Alzheimers. I looked around probably 20 homes in my local area - I live 8 miles away (there are a lot of others closer) but as soon as I walked into here I got a happy, relaxed feeling and knew this was the right place. Since he arrived, the staff have been outstanding and made both him and myself feel relaxed. I couldn't have asked for any better - the staff have gone above and beyond to help him settle in. I have told everyone about this home. Thanks."

"My mother became a resident in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home after a stay in the hospital and she realised she could no longer manage at home even with 4 carer visits per day. She needed someone to be there 24 hours a day. She is so happy as she can be - she is eating better and she gets on well with just about everyone who works there. She has told me the carers are all 'lovely'. It is less worrying for the family. If my mother is unwell, we receive a call and the GP is contacted. Overall, my mother and the rest of the family are happy with the care she is receiving and we would recommend Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home to others."

"Being in this care home has made a huge difference to mams life. She now has a smile on her face and likes having the company around her. "Excellent care. Pleasant willing staff. My mother is well cared for in clean pleasant surroundings. A good choice of well prepared food is provided on a daily basis. There is a good choice of activities for my mother to participate in if she wishes. Any appointments for hospitals etc are taken care of at no extra cost."
