Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Pub Lunch
We recently went out to the pub for lunch and a pint, which the residents always enjoy!
It gets them out and into a different environment, and they always eat well and thoroughly enjoy their meals.

Zoolab Visit!
At Werrington Lodge, we recently had some weird and wonderful creatures come to visit us with Zoo Lab. Chris brought us animals from his own collection. There was a Corn Snake called Casper, a Cockroach called Jarvis, a Tarantula called Elvis and a Gecko called Honey.
The residents were very interested and lots of questions were asked about these animals.
We were amazed at how many of the residents were happy to hold the animals, as they were definitely not the fluffy, cuddly kind that we normally would see; some of the staff weren’t overly keen to get too close either, as you can see by the photographs the residents loved the session.
Some residents were braver than others and held them, whilst some just had a look from a distance. Thank you Zoo Lab and Chris. We found the session very interesting. We will be seeing you again later on in the year and well done you brave residents.

Retail Therapy
We did a bit of retail therapy in house when the Gemini Mobile Clothing Company came to visit us with their clothes.
They were lovely people with wonderful items on offer! The residents loved browsing the rails, some bought, and some just window shopped, which is fine!
Women's and men's clothing range from £10 - £25. We hope to see them again with their Autumn wear - they had everything from underwear and nightwear to cardigans, jumpers, skirts and trousers.
The quality is great, and residents who bought items were very impressed and look forward to seeing them again.

Glen Miller tribute
One of the cornerstones of our life enrichment program is live musical entertainment. Resident involvement in choosing genres along with feedback after each performance means that we are able to constantly improve our activities calendar.
Our Residents were entertained by Matt Brown a tribute to Glen Miller on his trombone. He played and sang well known tunes made popular by Glen Miller and added some favourites from the Rat pack. The residents joined in with singing, dancing and smiles all around.
At Werrington Lodge that's what we like to do - create memories, and ensure our residents are leading full enriched lives.

Curious Creatures
Animal therapy is one of the cornerstones of our life enrichment program at Werrington Lodge and features regularly on our resident-led weekly activity planner.
Our Residents received a visit from some curious creatures and thoroughly enjoyed the hands on experience. There were smiles all around as they handled the exotic creatures.
Residents at Werrington Lodge love the animal therapy sessions that our dedicated Activities Team organise. As one of the foundations of our Life Enrichment program, we know that animal therapy can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health.

Elvis at 90
The methods and mediums may change but the heart of live music - the communal joy, the shared emotions, the collective energy - remains untouched.
The King of Rock and Roll would have turned 90 this year on January 8th. To celebrate our Residents enjoyed a trip down memory lane to enjoy some of the greatest hits from our very own King Pete Webb.
At Werrington Lodge that's what we like to do - create memories, and ensure our residents are leading full enriched lives.
