Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Local Food Bank Drop Off!

What a wonderful day! Some of the Sherborne Girls from the boarding house next door came over to help us load up some of the food donations collected by Trinity Manor at last week's Christmas Fayre, watched on by some of our residents...

Thanking the girls for their help, we were then on our way with some of our lovely ladies and a couple if strange looking elves, to do our delivery to the Sherborne Food Bank , where the lovely Antony was awaiting our arrival!

Posing for a few photos, we then officially handed over the essential items, which will go to some of the area's families who desperately need some help.

Thank you all to those who donated, it was such a great feeling to know that we have collectively helped so many!

Santa...We Know Him!

Santa was here at Trinity Manor recently, causing much laughter for all!

He deemed that we had all, 'been good boys and girls!' then switched on the lights of our ground floor Christmas tree, before wandering about the home to meet all our residents.

(It was secretly Paul, our Deputy Manager in disguise...but Shhhhh!  Don't tell anyone!)

All the Fun of the Fayre!

What a fun evening was had by all at our Christmas Fayre, but such a shame the weather was a little hit and miss...not to mention VERY cold!  But still our wonderful stallholders came out in force and provided us with a wonderful shopping base for a bit of Christmas shopping.

Thanks go to the wonderful Salvation Army Band, who provided us with some lovely Christmas music, setting the perfect atmosphere, as well as to the Girls School next door, who sang some beautiful carols for us also.

A truly magical start to the festive season!

Gorgeous Tree!

A MASSIVE thank you once again for the incredible tree that the lovely Jules Bradburn gifted to us recently. Pictures of it being felled can be seen in a previous post, so do take a look!

Standing front and centre in situ outside our lovely home, the tree was dressed and ready for our light switch on by the local Mayor, Anne Hall at the home's Christmas Fayre.

Doesn't it look Fabulous?

Thank you again Jules!

Tree Felling Adventure

Residents were delighted to be involved in a Christmas tree felling courtesy of one lovely local and friend of our home...

A few weeks ago, we were asked by the lovely Jules Bradburn, who is very well known by many in our community, if we would like a Christmas tree which was currently growing in her garden! Of course, we didn't hesitate to say yes!

So with lots of covid precautions in place, we took a mini bus with 3 of our residents to Jules' lovely cottage, where they watched in complete amusement and delight as the tree was felled by her lovely husband.

Afterwards, residents were treated to a hot brew and cake by a very cosy wood burning stove, it was then time to try and squeeze the 6 foot tree (which turned out to be nearer 9!) into Home Service Advisor, Rebekah's car, which was easier said than done!

It will take pride of place outside out front door of Trinity Manor with some beautiful lights, just in time for our Christmas Fayre this Friday!!!

THANK YOU Jules for your AMAZING hospitality and this truly wonderful gift! It's a beautiful tree too!

Lest We Forget...

Thank you to our Resident Ambassador, Dr Valerie, for representing Trinity Manor at the Remembrance Sunday wreath laying, along with Deputy Manager, Paul and Activities Coordinator, Laura, who together laid a wreath of remembrance down at Sherborne Abbey today on behalf of all our residents.

'They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.'
