Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Volunteer Recognition Day
Our volunteers are wonderful; they give up their time to improve the lives of others, which is no small thing, and the difference they make is amazing.
To say ‘thank you’, we celebrated Volunteer Recognition Day in style with flowers and champagne. The above photo was taken on our terrace, which overlooks the beautiful marina.
Would you would like to volunteer? To find out more, please speak to our General Manager, Katie Daysley, or click here.
Seated Yoga
Seated Yoga is a new initiative that was introduced by our Activities Coordinator, Clare Donnor. The lovely Grace will be coming into our home once a month to engage residents with yoga. The wider elderly community are more than welcome to join us and details can be found on our website or, alternatively, you can just give us a call.
Royal Tea Party
Residents enjoyed a minibus trip out to our local community hall to enjoy a royal tea party – and enjoy it they did!
Imps in the Community
Residents have been enjoying some exercise with local group, 'Imps in the Community', a charity group that works alongside Lincoln City Football Club, providing free exercise sessions once a week, for a period of six weeks, for residents.
Open Day
We hosted an open day on 21st April and residents, visitors and staff wre serenaded by Alicia, a budding opera singer, who has an amazing career ahead of her.
Employee of the Month - April
Congratulations to Activities Coordinator, Clare Donner, who was named as our Employee of the Month for April.
Clare is a deserved winner; she has developed a great relationship with residents, families and friends and is continually bringing new activities into our home on a regular basis. Thoroughly owning her role, Clair has been active and successful in developing relationships with the wider community.
Residents and visitors particularly gain much enjoyment from the toddler group, who come to us on a Tuesday morning for singing and interaction.
Well done, Clare!
