Wonderful care home, excellent facilities and surroundings for residents.
Kind and very friendly. Can't fault it.

"This was the second time my husband had been in respite care at Tennyson Wharf Care Home. We were both treated with kindness and care and respect by everyone. Nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly be using it again in the near future."

I have been a care home entertainer for 8 years and in that time I have visited dozens of such establishments in the course of nearly 800 bookings. I can safely say that Tennyson Wharf is my favourite venue.
The home itself is beautifully appointed in a stunning setting, spotlessly clean and well organised, the staff are friendly and helpful, joining in with the entertainment, rather than just leaving me to do all the work and the residents are friendly and welcoming, clearly very happy with their situation.
If the day ever comes, I shall be putting my name down for this lovely home!

Our staff come here to use the facilities for training.
The staff are always so welcoming, smiling and chatty so helpful, nothing is too much trouble here and the building is a lovely calm environment to be in. Thank you for being so kind.

"There is no doubt that this a very special Care Home. It must be emphasised that there are many here who have gone through difficult times in their lives and views differ. During my time here I feel that I have been treated well and as the Representative of the residents I have done all I can to help others. Activities are well planned and attempts are made to please as many as possible. Food & menus are well thought out with allergies/diabetic etc and well catered for. Management is sympathetic and understanding. Its difficult to think where such care can be done elsewhere."

What a lovely, happy and well kept home. From management, staff, and resident, all are relaxed and happy its a great atmosphere and calming. My miniture horse visits the home as part of the activity's, he loves his visits here. As do i.

I can honestly say that if you are looking for a happy, caring home for yourself or a loved one, Tennyson Wharf is an excellent choice. As performers working regularly within the care home industry, we visit many homes, and this is truly one of the best.

The staff are consistently welcoming, supportive, and genuinely involved — they join in with the entertainment and help create such a joyful atmosphere. Most importantly, the residents are clearly happy, which speaks volumes.

The home is always clean and well presented, with food and refreshments readily available. The décor is beautiful, and there is a real sense of warmth that makes it feel like a true home rather than just a care facility.

Thank you to the organisers and all the staff for making every visit such a positive and uplifting experience. If I were ever to need a care home myself, Tennyson Wharf would be top of my list.

"After the unexpected passing of my wife, I needed help with my everyday household management and life in general. A period of respite was suggested, and I looked at several care homes to help me through a short period of one to two weeks. Most of the care homes visited were smelly, dirty, shabby homes, was sugested, and I made an unanounced unexpected visit. I was welcomed by a pleasant, cheerful receptionist. Nature of my enquiry passed me on to the deputy, who, after reassurance of the admission criteria, I arranged a two week respite. The menu was superb, and the food served matched the excellent menu. The staff were amazingly helpful, caring and kind, particularly to those with special difficulties. After one day respite, I signed into the home permanently. I have been here for 2 months and do not regret my decision. Really wonderful environment provided - and games."

It’s always such a joy to come and sing at Tennyson Wharf. As you walk in it immediately feels like a 5⭐️ hotel! The residents and staff quite are always up for a a good singalong and plenty of dancing! One of my favourite places to perform!

"Everything was excellent with one exception.... The telephone signal was dreaful my wife could not decifer what I was saying as it was as if I was under water. I did not contact my wife for two days. This made me very sad. My wife contacted the staff and twice they brought me one of their phones to use. I did not like to ask for them to keep bring there phones to me. I would be happy to return again for respight if this was sorted."

"You might think that my rating of 'excellent' in all categories is 'over inflated' but the fact is, this home is excellent. It looks nice and it is nice. Set in beautiful grounds, its idyllic. Every member of staff I encountered was so friendly and caring. Its clean, tidy, well maintained and very "fresh" and "airy". The food is also to a very good standard/excellent standard. I came here due to a temporary incapacity and if I am infirmed again, this is where I shall come to. Thankyou. PS The bedrooms are great. So large and comfortable."

"I was only at Tennyson Wharf for three nights an eighty nine year old visiting my cousin. My experience from start to finish was delightful. Special care must be taken recruiting staff as their approach to their job was above and beyond expectations. We were cared for without being made to feel needy (respect) and the joy and laughter was so uplifting I was sad to leave. Unfortunatly Tennyson Wharf is in Lincoln and I'm in Cambridge or I would be considering long term stay."

"I am pleased to share our experience with Tennyson Wharf Barchester Care Home, where my father moved in on 17th March 2025. We discovered Tennyson Wharf through a friend and visited on 15th March, where we were warmly welcomed by a knowledgeable staff member. The home's warm atmosphere was evident, especially during an enjoyable Irish dancing performance. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my father on short notice, providing invaluable support during this emotional time. The care home is in a superb location with lovely gardens and marina views, and it's impeccably clean and well-maintained. What sets Tennyson Wharf apart is the genuine care each resident receives. The food is excellent, and the variety of activities keeps residents engaged. The facility feels like a five-star hotel, with ample parking and spacious rooms. The paperwork process was seamless, making the transition easier. I highly recommend Tennyson Wharf for its exceptional care and kindness!"
