Activities at Oaklands Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

VE Day Celebrations

VE Day at Oaklands was a fabulous day spent celebrating! We had a mobile ice cream trolley that visited all residents in their rooms, whilst playing Vera Lynn classics! Our residents thoroughly enjoyed their favourite flavours. Mint Choc Chip seemed to be very popular!!

Walks in the Garden

Our grounds here are so very beautiful and whilst the sun has been shining, we have been encouraging our residents to explore them. Here are some lovely pictures of our residents enjoying the pond that we have on site. We were watching to see what wildlife lived at the pond!!!

Postcards of Kindness

We are ever so lucky to have received lots of post and letters from all over the country to wish us well and to help keep our spirits high. Here are some pictures of our residents enjoying reading some of the letters.

Rainbows of Joy!

We have received lots of lovely pictures and hanging decorations from the local children who are still going to school in our area. They have sent through lovely well-wishes and these beautiful rainbows and colours!! Our residents have very much enjoyed looking through all the artwork, and they have been hung up in all our communal spaces.

Kind Donations

We were so very lucky to be donated lots of plants from our local garden centre, Scotsdales. As they are not selling as many flowers as they are closed, they were very kind and gave them to us. Our residents have been busy planting them up into our raised beds, pots and in the garden. They really have brought such joy with their lovely colours!

Magic Table Fun!

Here at Oaklands, our residents living with dementia love interacting with our 'Magic Light Table'. It has so many games and interactive pictures!
