Activities at Oaklands Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

A White Christmas

We had wonderful afternoon watching the classic Christmas film, 'White Christmas', with the twinkling of the fairy lights followed by hot chocolates all round.

Enticing The Wildlife

Residents at Hilton Park have been creating new ceramic bird feeders to entice the local wildlife into our stunning gardens. These beautiful creations will look amazing in our carefully maintained gardens.

Flower Arranging Session

Residents at Oaklands had so much fun flower arranging last week, we changed it a bit and made our own vases too. The activity ladies had seen this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to try. The resident thoroughly enjoyed it and asked to do it this way again. It involved lots of creative and fine manipulative skills.

Sudoku Challenge

Residents have thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon of brain teaser Sudoku puzzles. After beginning with a conversation about how to complete them, followed by lots of laughter and confusion, we all got the knack of it together.

International Dot Day

To celebrate International Dot Day (global celebration of creativity), residents enjoyed completing dot-to-dot pictures. It was stimulating for them and also encouraged conversation about the flowers in the gardens.

Pet Therapy

At the start of the pandemic, we brought some new therapy cats and dogs. A group of residents were introduced to their pets and have taken to them really well.
