Melbourn Springs Care Home in Royston

Our new premium care home will be opening in Royston in winter 2019 and will offer residential, respite and dementia support to older individuals.

Residential Care

Our dedicated staff members will provide high quality residential care for frail older people who would benefit from additional care and support in a warm and friendly environment.

Dementia Care

Our Memory Lane community will incorporate person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware, will assist with reminiscence. Communities will be broken up into small units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care will be focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels will reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia will be offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.

Types of care

We will always aim to deliver bespoke care to those who live at our home. We will tailor our services to meet the unique requirements of each person and in a way that celebrates their individuality, whilst also helping residents to maintain as much independence as possible and treating them with dignity at all times.

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Karen Allen

General Manager

Hi, my name is Karen and I am the General Manager here at Melbourn Springs. Welcome to our website!

My journey in the care of frail older people started in 1982 and I feel very fortunate to have had an exceptionally varied career over the last 37 years. This has included managing assisted living facilities, day care centres, residential/nursing and dementia care homes - all of which I have truly adored!

As an experienced home manager, I fully understand how difficult the transition into new surroundings can be. My highly qualified team and myself are committed to fully support you and your family throughout this journey and always.

I am passionate about our residents being safe, making them happy, enabling them to lead fully enriched lives whilst always receiving the highest quality of care.

Our team here at Melbourn Springs are dedicated to guarantee that all of our residents are treated with dignity, respect and attention, thus in turn enabling them to celebrate life in their new Barchester home which I feel exceptionally privileged to be a part of.

I look forward to welcoming you to Melbourn Springs very soon!
