Maria Ulian

Acting General Manager

Hello, my name is Maria and I am the Acting General Manager here at Melbourn Springs.

I started my Barchester journey back in 2019, and having previously worked on our communities as a Nurse and Unit Manager.

I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring to the home and I look forward to welcoming you to Melbourn Springs.

Damian King

Deputy Manager

Hello, my name is Damian King and I am the Deputy Manager at  Melbourn Springs.  

I have over 10 years’. experience in social care and the NHS working in many different roles. I have been a Deputy Manager for the past 4 years working in Nursing, Residential and Dementia and I have completed my Level 5 apprenticeship in Leadership in adult social care and many other certifications.   

I wish to assure you of my intention to offer outstanding service for all residents and family members. I am committed to continue offering and improving life enrichment to enhance the life of our residents.

I am friendly and approachable and my door is always open to anyone should you need to discuss anything.

Stefan Lupu

Clinical Lead

Hello, my name is Stefan and I am the Clinical Lead here at Melbourn Springs. 

I have been a dedicated and compassionate professional in the care home industry since 2015, starting my journey with a role as a kitchen assistant. My ability to connect with residents, and a passion for caregiving led to my transition into a carer position, where I adeptly handled both day and night shifts. This hands-on experience fuelled my determination to further my expertise, prompting me to successfully complete a care practitioner course in 2019.

Denis Green

Home Services Advisor

Hello, my name is Denis and I am the Home Services Advisor here at Melbourn Springs.

I joined Barchester in 2024 and I am here to ensure that the process of moving your loved one into Melbourn Springs is as straightforward as possible.

I have previous experience in this role and one of the most satisfying parts of my job is seeing our new residents settle into their new home. The relationship that I build with the residents and their families is priceless and to be part of this journey is a genuine privilege. 

Lesley Livings

Administration Manager

Hello, my name is Lesley and I am the Administration Manager here at Melbourn Springs.

I joined Barchester in 2022 and I am here to assist with all of the aspects attached to the administration of the home.

I have previous experience of working in this role and always enjoyed working closely with people and supporting the residents their families and friends, the staff and members of the public. If there is anything that I can do to help - please do not hesitate to ask and I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Melbourn Springs very soon.

Denise Ashby

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Denise and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Melbourn Springs. I joined Barchester in 2022 and always strive to support and care for all of our residents in a way that best suits each individual.

Making sure that our residents have things to do that they really enjoy doing is something that I hold very close to my heart. It is so important to make sure that they are happy and enjoy all of the activities and events that we host for them.

A lot of our residents also enjoy our special trips out on our Mini Bus as we create new, special memories together at Melbourn Springs.

Phil Bennett

Head Chef

Hello, my name is Phil and I am the Head Chef here at Melbourn Springs. I pride myself on preparing high quality food and seeing our residents enjoy the dishes that the team and myself create makes me very happy.

Prior to joining Barchester in 2021 I was Head Chef at a luxury Golf Club complex running a team where we would often be catering for parties, conferences and weddings too!

Our Hospitality team here at Melbourn Springs is committed to providing seasonal home cooked menus offering choice, nutrition and quality - including exciting menus to specific individual dietary needs and all appetites. The food we produce is hugely important to our residents which is why it is absolutely imperative that we always get their feedback and continuously meet the needs and nutritional quota of every single resident who chooses to make Melbourn Springs their home.

Rob Northover

Head of Maintenance

Hello, my name is Rob and I am the Head of Maintenance here at Melbourn Springs.

Helping to make our home inviting, comfortable and safe for our residents, relatives, guests and colleagues is absolutely paramount to me.

I am exceptionally proud to work for Barchester and am committed to maintaining the highest standards in everything that we do for those that have chosen to make Melbourn Springs their home.

Alison Goodwin

Head of Housekeeping

Hello, my name is Alison and I am the Head of Housekeeping here at Melbourn Springs.

I started my career with Barchester when Melbourn Springs first opened in 2020 and have progressed to Head of Housekeeping. I pride myself on leading a team to keep our lovely home looking clean and sparkly everyday.

The highlight of my day is always speaking to residents about their lives and also keeping them updated on my allotment.

Team Leader

Hello, my name is Laura and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs.

I joined Barchester in 2020 and have been so impressed by the outstanding training and support that the company provide for their staff.

I really enjoy getting to know our residents and making sure that they are always well cared for to enable them to settle comfortably in their new home - making every day they spend with us the best it possibly can be.

 

 

Amanda Thatcher

Team Leader

Hello, my name is Amanda and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs.

I have been working in the care sector since 2012, joined Barchester in 2021 and have always enjoyed caring for elderly people. Nothing drives me more than ensuring that our residents receive the best possible care every day – exactly how I would look after one of my own elderly relatives.

It is an absolute pleasure to help our residents settle into their new home and see them join in all of the great activities we have going on at the home too!

Hello, my name is Andrew and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs.

I have worked in the care of elderly people for many years now and joined Barchester in 2021.

Melbourn Springs is unlike any other place that I have worked previously and the standards and training are absolutely exceptional. I thoroughly enjoy working alongside the team here at the home to provide the best care for our residents every single day!

Hello, my name is Lesley and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs. I joined Barchester in 2022 and I have always enjoyed helping people. I like to spend time with the residents and their loved ones, listening to their stories and ensuring we support them when needed. Helping residents settle into their new home and making sure they feel comfortable is very important to me.  

Shankly Miller

Care Assistant

Hello, my name is Shankly and I am a Care Assistant here at Melbourn Springs. I started my career in the care of the elderly in 2018 and joined Barchester in 2021.

I especially enjoy spending time with our residents and caring for them in the best possible way every day. I was very close to my Grandma who lived with Dementia which in turn spurred me on to help support and care for other elderly people. I especially like to help residents settle into our Memory Lane Dementia community at Melbourn Springs and hearing about all of our residents wonderful stories too!
