Activities at Mount Vale Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from PAT dogs, entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Mount Vale Gets Festive!

Mount Vale's residents and staff have been busy creating and putting together garlands and wreaths to make the home as festive as can be.

Residents and staff have also been crafting home-made decorations for the Christmas tree which they all helped to decorate, the trees are looking truly magnificent covered in beautiful Christmas lights and baubles.

Activities Coordinator, Becky has also stepped up the festivities this year and are taking part in Elf on the Shelf and it’s safe to say the residents and staff are having plenty of fun with it!

Christmas is such a magical time and our residents love nothing better than to spend time creating decorations for the home and then we all help to put them up together.

Live Performance from Matt Jones-Green

Residents enjoyed another great afternoon with Matt Jones-Green who visits Mount Vale once a month for a live music performance. Our Residents love having a good old sing song and Matt sets the mood for a great afternoon of smiles and singing.

Residents and staff always look forward to our monthly visit from Matt!

Winston Churchill's love affair with Blenheim Palace

Our residents were thrilled to join Antonia Keaney - Blenheim Palace’s Historian for an intriguing virtual talk on Winston Churchill.

The private resources of Blenheim Palace were drawn upon to afford very new and refreshing insights into this remarkable man. During the talk Antonia shared fascinating information about the breadth of talent, achievement and personality of the "Greatest Briton": soldier, politician, statesman, painter, writer, orator, family man - and bricklayer!

We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed learning more about UK’s former Prime Minister.

Visit from a furry friend!

Residents enjoyed a lovely visit from a furry friend this week. Our lovely Carer, Anna brought in her beautiful little puppy to visit our Residents and as you can see she melted everyone’s hearts!

Blooming Haus

We were delighted to join Blooming Haus’s Christmas Wreath Making Masterclass, where Master Florist, Michal and his business partner - Michael showed us the best method to create beautiful festive wreaths.

Following the tips and ideas learnt during the amazing virtual experience, we were happy to put our skills to a test and to enter the #BarchesterChristmasWreaths competition.

We all had a wonderful time creating our festive wreath/s.

Thank you @bloominghaus for helping our residents flow into the true spirit of Noel.
