Mount Vale Care Home in Northallerton

Here at Mount Vale, we provide  high quality 24-hour nursing care and residential support, alongside expert care for those living in our dedicated Memory Lane Community. We are proud to be one of the first homes to be accredited as part of Barchester’s 10-60-06 Dementia Care programme, reflecting the enhanced quality of dementia care and improved quality of life experienced by those we support. We also offer respite care and short breaks, which can be pre-booked up to a year in advance.

A beautifully restored, former maternity hospital, Mount Vale is located in the scenic Northallerton. It has easy access to both the North Yorkshire Dales, Cleveland and the historic city of York. Our home is also situated close to Thirsk, Ripon, Yarm, Stokesley, Richmond and Bedale, so is well placed for visiting friends and family, who are always welcome.

We believe that you will find we are ideally suited to meet your needs, so why not call in for a cup of tea or coffee and see for yourself? We look forward to seeing you soon.

Our team

It is the amazing people who work at Mount Vale who have made our home what it is today. Our people are our biggest asset; each member of staff makes it their mission to provide the highest possible standard of care and to ensure that every resident is comfortable and happy. Whether that’s by our wonderful kitchen staff cooking up a resident’s favourite meal, or the activities team arranging for a well-liked entertainer to visit the home – our team’s primary concern is making sure each person we care for is completely satisfied with their stay at Mount Vale.

All of the team here at Mount Vale will play a part when a new resident moves into our home, including the maintenance team who like to help personalise their new rooms by putting up pictures; and the activities coordinators, who always spend time with residents to find out about their favourite hobbies.

Helen Lewis

General Manager

Welcome to Mount Vale Care Home, my name is Helen and I am the General Manager here.

My nursing career began when I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1983. After 20 years of working for the NHS, I moved into the 'private' sector and commenced a journey into care Home Management. I have worked for a number of well known care providers (including Barchester earlier in my career), before returning to Barchester (at Mount Vale) in December 2015.

Mount Vale is a beautiful home and I have found the care team to be extremely warm and friendly. I hope that if you come to take a look at Mount Vale, you will experience the same positive experience that I did when I first walked into the home.
