Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Welcome to Mount Vale Care Home, my name is Helen and I am the General Manager here.
My nursing career began when I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1983. After 20 years of working for the NHS, I moved into the 'private' sector and commenced a journey into care Home Management. I have worked for a number of well known care providers (including Barchester earlier in my career), before returning to Barchester (at Mount Vale) in December 2015.
Mount Vale is a beautiful home and I have found the care team to be extremely warm and friendly. I hope that if you come to take a look at Mount Vale, you will experience the same positive experience that I did when I first walked into the home.
I qualified as a nurse in 1979 and have worked in both hospitals and care homes since then. I have been at Mount Vale for over 5 years and became Head of Unit in 2016. I love working on the Elderly Frail unit; our palliative care is second to none and I have a wonderful team behind me.
I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years and am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of being head of our Memory Lane community. I have been involved with dementia care for many years and love working with those we support. My team and I strive to make each resident's days as meaningful and fulfilling as possible.
Shona has been with us since 2009 and welcomes and introduces all new residents, loved ones and visitors to the home with an inviting smile!
My name is Sue and I am the Home Administrator at Mount Vale. I have over 25 years of experience in administration, finance and customer service and my role here at Mount Vale incorporates all of these skills. I am responsible for delivering high standards of administrative support to the General Manager and other staff members, as well as being the first point of contact for residents and family members with regards to financial matters. My mission statement is 'to treat my colleagues, residents and their families with the professionalism, dignity and respect that they deserve whilst maintaining their right to confidentiality'.
I have been working at Mount Vale since 2013; I absolutely love my job, especially meeting all residents and their families. We have lots of events, such as fetes art exhibitions and open days. We always endeavour to involve the local community, so schools and colleges will often visit the home. We have lots of external entertainers and enjoy regular pet therapy sessions, including a PAT dog, who will often stop by to spend some quality time with residents.
I am the Head Chef at Mount Vale. I have over 20 years of experience in cooking for different care homes and enjoy preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes for the residents of Mount Vale to enjoy.
Paul ensures the home is safe and well-presented at all times, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Paul's role can vary from changing light bulbs to building patios. Paul also oversees the grounds at Mount Vale, of which we are very proud.
I have been working at Mount Vale since 2014 and take great pride in my work. We have a great team and I enjoy spending time with the residents.
My name is Bambi and visit Mount Vale. I am a miniature Chihuahua I work alongside with Rebecca, Activities Coordinator. I like to meet and greet people, so please come and say hello when you visit Mount Vale.
