Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Helpful Hounds visit
We had our furry friends Raffi and Hobi from Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs come in this week to visit our residents and as you can see they brought lots of smiles and laughter. These lovely dogs really do bring so much joy to the home not just for the residents but for our staff too.

Andy performs with his accordion
We had the very talented Andy back with his accordion to entertain the residents here in the home. He played a variety of pieces from all around the world which took us on a wonderful journey. We had lots of singing and dancing and was so much fun for everyone.

Arts and Crafts group
In this week’s art group residents stared making props for our staff pantomime that we will be performing on Christmas Eve. We needed crowns and signs for the audience to respond too. With making these props it has got everyone really looking forward to seeing the production of "Cinderella" and also had everyone talking about their memories of going to the pantomime with their families.

Baking Club
This week's baking club had residents making delicious cheese and onion pastries and vegetarian sausage rolls. Lots of chopping, grating and laughter took place to create these lovely treats for everyone to enjoy.

Caring Canines come and visit
We had the pleasure of Sky who is from Caring Canines come to the home to visit the residents. Sky brought lots of pleasure to our residents bringing back memories of their pets, telling stories, bringing smiles and laughter.

The Curiosity Case
We had Clare from The Curiosity Case come to the home with her case and the theme this time was "Film and TV". Residents were able to look through all the items which then had everyone reminisce over their favourite films and TV shows. A wonderful morning was enjoyed by everyone and we look forward to Clare coming in again very soon.
