Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Simon Woodley performs in the home
We had a new performer come to the home the very talented Simon Woodley who played the piano to our residents. What was really lovely was that Simon asked residents for requests which had everyone all requesting some of their favourite pieces which then brought back many memories. It was a very relaxing morning listening to the piano being played so beautifully.
We look forward to Simon coming back again next month.

Eileen's Birthday
We celebrated the lovely Eileen's birthday. Her family with residents and staff all came together for a birthday social where Eileen had a wonderful time.
Happy Birthday Eileen from all at Moors Manor.

Flower arranging with our volunteers
We had our fantastic volunteers Geraldine, Dee and Adele come in to spend the morning with our residents. This time it was a morning of being creative and to do some flower arranging which the ladies did all enjoy. We are very lucky to have these lovely ladies come in to the home and we thank them all for everything they do.

Art club.
In art club we wanted to create our start and finish banners ready for our sponsored walk. Residents all came together to achieve this and we even had a family member join us who was an art teacher. We are doing our sponsored walk for local cause West Moors Dementia Action Group.

Trip to the Theatre.
Residents Kathy, Marianne, June and Liz went to Barrington Theatre to watch the show Annie which was performed by Ferndown Phoenix Musical Theatre and what a wonderful performance it was. Residents were singing along to the well-known songs and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
We look forward to going to the theatre to watch more shows and concerts over the next few months.

Helpful Hounds visit
We had a lovely visit from Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs who came in to see the residents in the home. Residents really do love to see animals and especially dogs as many used to have their own when living at home. To have Helpful Hounds come in the home is great and as you can see in the photos this really does mean so much to the residents.
