Hyacinth House Care Home
Hyacinth House Care Home in Wimborne
We are planning the re-development of Hyacinth House Care Home as the facilities and environment at the home are not aligned to the standards we expect, and strive for at Barchester Healthcare. Due to the significant work needed we are sorry to say that we are not able to do this whilst residents are living in the home, so have made the difficult decision to close the home whilst we do this. We hope that this would be completed in 2021, but it is not possible to say for sure.

Hyacinth House Care Home is situated near to the village of Wimborne Minister, about 10 miles north of Bournemouth. With 26 bedrooms offering residential care and nursing care, we think carefully about the type of room each resident needs. We also offer respite care for those requiring shorter stays.
Our bedrooms are set across two floors, and there is a TV lounge, a tasteful conservatory and a large dining room on the ground floor, meaning peace and tranquillity is never far away. All furnishings and decor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard. We also have a number of well-maintained garden and patio areas, including a secure sensory garden suitable for residents with dementia.
When you arrive at Hyacinth House, we’ll sit down together to understand you, your life story and your needs. This includes any objectives you have, or specific health concerns. We’ll then create a personal care plan together with you, your relatives and our carers.
The culture here is dominated by the residents – a mutual respect for one another, to be happy, live and enjoy life to the full. There is real loyalty, dedication and passion
shown by the staff. Everyone wants the best for the residents.
Activities vary each week: from cookery and creative arts, to musical performances and animal handlers. And everything’s flexible – if it’s sunny we try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day
Mealtimes are fun and sociable, and give residents the opportunity to exchange stimulating conversation whilst enjoying good quality homemade food. Each day our chef prepares restaurant-style meals combining variety with a balanced diet and an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. And we can cater to any dietary or health requirements, however complex.
