I visited Hyacinth house last week to deliver a service to the residence.
I was greeted upon my arrival by a really friendly and helpful reception team.
I was introduced to all the members of the team and met a few of the care team.
When being shown around the home and visiting a few of the residence , the member of the care team who was chaperoning me was very respectful and mindful of all the residents privacy and introduced and explained my service that I was offering thoroughly .
Hyacinth house was a real pleasure to visit and all the staff and residents appeared to really enjoy being there.

I recently visited Hyacinth House as part of the MJP Law team to meet with residents and provide some advice regarding Wills and estate planning. Kamila and the team at Hyacinth House were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and I had a great time spending the morning there getting to know some of the residents and staff alike.

I recently visited Hyacinth House Care Home with my colleagues to discuss various matters such as importance of Wills, LPAs and estate planning with the residents, as well as the locals. We were greeted by lovely Kamila, the general manager, who made us feel very welcome as soon as we walked through the door. Whilst being in the care home and speaking with few of the residents, there's no doubt that the staff are doing an absolute fabulous job at looking after everyone and keeping the place look so beautiful and clean. I would love to be admitted for respite care myself !! Such a stunning home and Kamila is doing such a fantastic job, we heard it from the residents themselves who were singing her praises. Lovely, lovely atmosphere all around x

I visited Hyacinth House last week to provide a mindfulness session to some of the residents and team members. I received a lovely warm welcome and immediately felt that this is a care home that really does care. I was very impressed by the care and attention given to the residents which alongside the beautiful decor, cleanliness and facilities makes it five stars for me. I visited Hyacinth House on the 12th of April 2025 as I had been invited as a guest to join the afternoon of Thai culture. It was a charity event with a menu of Thai cuisine, fun games, and entertainment. It was such a lovely, homely atmosphere, with caring staff for the residents and the guests. I enjoyed the afternoon, healthy and nicely cooked and presented food and drinks, lovely old fashioned music and lots of fun. Also, I meet lovely people who are living and working there. The most important thing is that the residents look happy. Thanks for the invitation! My best wishes to everyone!

I've attended several networking events at Hyacinth House and also hosted my own events here for my local business. The staff are always exceptionally welcoming, helpful and friendly. The cake is absolutely fantastic, the home is always clean and fresh. They offer so much for residents and the local community.

Absolutely wonderful care-home. Camilla and her wonderful team were outstanding. My Dad really enjoyed his 2 weeks respite stay, massive compliments to the chef too, beautiful food and lovely surroundings. Couldn’t recommend Hyacinth House enough.

EMA Patient Transport regularly takes patients to and from Barchester - Hyacinth House Care Home and we are always hugely impressed with their care and attention to detail that the staff show throughout the whole process. The residents always greet us with a smile on their faces and the home is truly spectacular! We were also invited to their wonderful Jamaican night last night, which was amazing!- Thank you so much for the work that you do.

We have used Hyacinth house twice for our Nan for rest bite care. She absolutely loved it, hence the second visit! The staff are all fantastic, the place is spotlessly clean and there’s always lots for the residents to do. I’m sure it won’t be long before Nan gets booked in for her next stay.

"Mum moved into Hyacinth House in January 2025 at the age of 95, when her health was failing & she needed more support. Hyacinth House fitted the bill perfectly. It didn't feel like a 'care home' but a real home. The staff were very welcoming to Mum & helped her settle in. They went out of their way to accommodate her every need & to really get to know her. Excellent food & the lounges were very comfortable & mum's family very well supported when they visited. Hyacinth House cared for Mum until the end of her life in May with care & dignity. I couldn't recommend them enough."

"I cannot speak highly enough of hyacinth house! My mum was incredibly happy and well looked after during her time here. The staff were kind, caring, and dedicated, going above and beyond to ensure her needs were met. The manager was truly exceptional - responsive, approachable, and compassionate. She took the time to build a genuine relationship with my mum, which meant the world to us both. Her professionalism and leadership were evident in the way the home was run. I'm so grateful for the care and love hyacinth house provided. If you're looking for a home that truly feels like a home, look no further."

"My parents came to Hyacinth House almost a year ago and have had wonderful care from day one. The home is beautiful and always warm and welcoming. Sadly dad recently passed away and we have felt supported, comforted and reassured during his final weeks and days. Mum has been incredibly well looked after too and has been cared for by all the staff and residents at this difficult time."

"I needed to find respite care for my elderly aunt. I was nervous as I had never had to do this before. I did not need to worry, Hyacinth House is amazing - the care and empathy is above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. Aunty may end up staying."

"This is the second time I have used Barchester Hyacinth House for respite care for my mother, who has difficulty with mobility. Mum loves it here. The bedrooms are modern, comfortable and well-equipped. Staff are very friendly and helpful - and Mum tells me the food is very tasty. Mum also enjoyed the fitness and creative activities and going out in the minibus to the New Forest and Poole Park. A huge thank you to all the staff for looking after Mum whilst we were away. I know she looks forward to seeing you again soon."

"Having been to the fortnightly exercise classes, it had already felt a lovely atmosphere. I stayed for a week, last week and from my first, warm welcome, I felt so relaxed, safe and loved my stay in every way. A wonderful team of staff who not only care for the residents beautifully but were so civil and supportive of each other."

"My mum chose to move into Barchester Hyacinth House in the autumn of 2023 and remained there until she died in April 2024. She was one of the home's first residents. Her room was lovely and the food was delicious, with plenty of choice. Every member of staff, from the manager right through to the housekeeping team, was outstanding; so friendly, positive and compassionate. They made every effort to make Mum feel at home and to find out about her as a person, even arranging for a donkey (one of Mum's favourite animals) to visit the home! Everyone was so caring towards Mum and us when Mum became more unwell and the staff were determined to enable her to stay at Hyacinth House if at all possible. They made arrangements to give her the additional support she needed and took care of us too, both emotionally and with cups of tea and meals; nothing was too much trouble. We were so pleased that Mum was able to spend her last days in the home with familiar faces caring for her, instead of in hospital."

"My mother came to the home for respite after leaving hospital, she had been through a trauma and a long stay in hospital. The care home staff were fantastic with my mum, very patient, encouraging and kind. From the care my mum received after being there four and a half months she was ready to go home. The staff were always happy to help and put their residents first. The food was fantastic fresh well balanced meals offered every day and great cake! The entertainment was varied and fun with wonderful trips outside the home too. As a visitor you were made to feel welcome from the moment you walked in the door. The management were always happy to help and find the time to assist and answer any questions. I am very grateful to all the team for how they supported my mum. I would definitely recommend this home for respite or long-term term care."
