Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Born to Sing performance
Today we had the wonderful Born to Sing perform to the residents and what a fantastic afternoon it was! They performed a selection of songs from classical, musicals and pop which has residents all singing along too. We look forward to when Born to Sing perform again in the home.

Christmas craft session
We had the lovely Lexy back from Made By Me Craft Parties for her craft session here in the home. Residents were given pine cones and then decorated them into Christmas Trees. There was lots of concentration taking place and the finished results were great.
We will look forward to hanging these onto the Christmas Tree when we put this up in the home.

Remembrance Sunday in the home
Residents and staff had a very lovely and emotional morning as they paid their respects to all of those soldiers who have represented our country. Everyone was able to lay a poppy in our garden of remembrance and we also observed the two minute silence. Afterwards Senior Carer Caroline read the famous poem 'In Flanders Fields' which was very moving.

Helpful Hounds visit
Residents here always enjoy having visitors come to the home but especially the furry kind. We had the Helpful Hounds Assistance Dogs Raffi and Hobi come to see everyone and as you can see in the photos they brought so many smiles and happiness to all.

Baking Club for Fireworks night
You will have seen the photos from our Fireworks night, but before the fireworks went off residents were busy making chocolate apples with sprinkles for everyone to enjoy. Residents had fun making these and were able to eat them later that evening.

Fireworks Night at Moors Manor
We held our fireworks night in the home and what a lovely evening it was. We had residents, their families and members of the community all come along to watch the wonderful display. The kitchen team all worked hard to provide the marvellous chilli and hot dogs which everyone enjoyed. Here are just a few of the photos but we will need to see if we can go even bigger for next year!
