Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Halloween preperations
Residents have started to get into the spooky spirit by decorating our pumpkins which we have displayed around the café in the home. Jo our activities coordinator wanted to do something a little bit different this time so went into the garden and collected different leaves and flowers which residents then used to stick onto the pumpkins. Residents did a fantastic job and I think you will all agree how great they look.

Minibus outing to Haskins
This week’s minibus outing was a trip to Haskins Garden Centre to have a look at the wonderful Christmas displays they had in store. Residents were admiring the different looks on the Christmas Trees and getting ideas for when we do the Christmas Trees here in the home.
They then finished the trip with a cup of tea and cake in their café and all had a lovely chat together.

Visit from Sky the dog.
We had the lovely sky come and visit our residents this week in the home. Sky hasn't been able to come for a little while so residents were very pleased to see her and give her a little bit of love and attention. Residents were all sharing their stories about pets they used to have, so we are very lucky to welcome our furry friends into the home.

Sponsored Walk for West Moors Dementia Action Group
Today we had our sponsored walk in the home where residents and staff all joined together to walk the equivalent of The Three Peeks Challenge! Staff were on that treadmill clocking up the miles and residents did laps around the garden. We are raising money for local cause West Moors Dementia Action Group and still collecting donations.
Here are just a few photos throughout the day, and everyone all joined together and had so much.

Quiz Night at Moors Manor
We held our quiz night in the home where we invited residents, families, staff and the community to attend. We had our very own Quiz Master Laura are Home Services Advisor here in the home. Laura was on hand to ask all the questions from the different categories, which had which got everyone's thinking caps going. It was a fantastic evening where we all had so much and look forward to doing another quiz again soon.
