Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.

I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.

When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.

I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Steve Linn entertains

We had the wonderful entertainer Steve Linn come in today to entertain everyone in the home. He sang a variety of songs that had everyone signing, clapping and dancing in the home. Music brings so much joy to everyone here and we always enjoy Steve coming to the home and look forward to when he comes in again.

Baking Club

Residents love their baking club and this time we made yoghurt bark. Residents had fun chopping up and adding the fruit and chocolate to the yoghurt bark. Later on they all got to enjoy them with a cup of tea and of course had a good knatter as well.

Knit and Knatter club

Our ladies do love the knit and knatter club that we have in the home. It's a great excuse for everyone to come together to do a hobby that they have done for many years and also see how everyone is and catch up on the gossip too. We look forward to seeing what our ladies create with their knitting as the year goes on!

Christmas Day preperations

Residents enjoyed making favours which were then placed on all the tables on Christmas Day for everyone to enjoy an extra treat with their lunch. It was lovely for everyone to create the reindeers and you can see lots of fun took place while making them.

We had Claire from The Curiosity Case with her case and of course for December there was only one theme and that of course was "Christmas" Residents were able to look at Christmas Cards and Ornaments. We have really enjoyed Claire coming in with her case each month to see what each theme will be, we will look forward to what she brings in January.
