Activities at Meadow Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Meadow Park Care Home

National Gardening Week

Our residents have been busy today potting some of our fabulous flowers. Lance, Lillian and Colin all worked as a team to make sure our new flowers were set up ready to go into our garden for the rest of the home to enjoy. Well done everyone!

Easter celebrations

Our residents have had a lovely time celebrating Easter this year with competitions, games and good food. Well done to two of our ladies for winning our Egg and Spoon competition and also our Easter Bonnet competition.

Wine in the garden

We all enjoy spending time in our courtyard garden soaking up some sun with a glass of fizz, our resident’s came together to sing, dance and enjoy some outdoor games to greet the warmer weather. It was lovely to see our residents having fun outdoors and we can’t wait for some more sunny days outside.

Creating sock bunnies

Today our residents have been creative and been really busy making a sock bunny family using recycled materials, in preparation of the homes Easter celebrations. All of our residents had a different vision for their rabbits looks and names, all whilst exercising there fine motor skills. It was a fun-filled activity with lots of laughter!

Discovering the Astor's

Our residents came together to enjoy an exciting virtual talk courtesy of the team at National Trust Talks Service.  The illustrated talk took us closer to one of Cliveden’s most famous families, the Astors. Our residents were able to discover what motivated William Waldorf Astor, America’s richest man, to purchase Cliveden in 1893 and how the estate became the centre of high society in the 1920 s and 30 s thanks to his son Waldorf and daughter in law Nancy Astor.

Wallace Collection

We had a lovely time joining Holly and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to the Collection, followed by a sensory exploratory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings.  The Collection ranges from Old Master paintings to 18th century French furniture, arms and armour.   We all had a wonderful time and cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and paint some landscapes in the upcoming days.
