Activities at Meadow Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Meadow Park Care Home

Daily life skills

It is a very important part of daily life for each and everyone to engage in activities which are meaningful for the individual. Valerie’s passion at home was to bake, Ruth was to knit and puzzling maintains an active and stimulate brain. Well done to all of our residents whom continue to enjoy their favourite pastimes

Mind, Body and Soul

Keeping active, having social interactions and being mentally stimulated is very important to Residents at Meadow Park   Residents took advantage of Oomph live exercise class.

As part of the homes life enrichment programme, the activities coordinators include firm favourites in the homes calendar with fun-filled adapted games that they played over the years in a safe environment!

Community gifts

Residents and staff would like to say a huge Thankyou for these wonderfull activity packs kindly donated by Age UK Northumberland

With a magazine full of colouring pages, sudoku and crossword puzzles, and a packet of colouring pens, They have been greatly received and will certainly keep us busy.  Puzzles and colouring are good for cognition and visual spatial reasoning, and most importantly they bring us all together.

Christmas baubles

Residents today have tried their hand at personalising their own Christmas decorations. We love arts & craft sessions here at Meadow Park, so thought we would put our mark on something special, something we can hang on our trees for years to come Ruth told us all about decorations in there day, and how basic but meaningful they were

Christmas cake competition

Residents and our chef, have had great fun designing and making our annual Christmas cake for the Barchester competition.

Residents went for a more traditional approach, with plenty of booze inside.

Gentlemans Club

Today our men of the home, have had all eyes on them, with our weekly edition of the ‘Gentleman’s club’, from darts, bingo, and a game of poker, to a pint of lager and a pork pie!
