Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

On the 17th December a special birthday party was held for Roseanne Jones, she reached a major achievement and celebrated her 102nd Birthday!

Roseanne was born in 1913 and says that she has enjoyed a full and happy life. Roseanne’s special day was celebrated with a special cake and she was spoilt with lots of presents from friends and family. Roseanne was sung Happy Birthday by the Children of Sidlesham Primary School, not just in English but also in Italian. All of this ensured a special day for her!

At 102 years old, Rose Anne has lived through most of the 20th century. She was born in 1913, just a year after the Titanic sank, Roseanne was 26 years old when the second world war broke out in 1939.
