Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Marek Manteufel & Theresa Connor
We both joined Marnel a while ago and we are very excited to be part of such a proactive and dedicated team. There are lots of ideas and innovations, all to enhance quality of life of our residents. Every day is different and to understand the needs of our residents, building relationship with them and keeping in touch with their families and friends, is the most important and rewarding job we could have wish for.

Life at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Jazz Evening
Aston sang to us all during our jazz evening, which family and friends also joined us for. We all danced to New York, New York and it was such a fantastic night.
Euro 2016
Scott presented Don with his prize for winning the Euro 2016. Don had picked Portugal in the sweepstake that we ran at Marnel lodge while the football event was on.
Summer Fete
Marnel Lodge held it's 5th Summer Fete; it was a wonderful day and the sun was shining. Fred Dinage came along to officially open the fete, along with resident, Peggy. We had lots of fun with a tombola raffle and lovely cream teas and, let's not forget, Miller's Ark Animals. Maria, one of our nurses, did face painting, which the children loved. Relatives helped to run our stalls as it was a considerably family affair.
Heart & Soul Award
Our Heart & Soul award goes to Julie Willows. Julie was nominated by her colleague, Sian Morgan, for her dedication to improving the environment for residents. She is a real hero.
Checking out the Garden
Peter came to check out what a good job our maintenance team had done on our new rock garden.
Daisy Chain Children
Daisy Chain Children came to visit us. The children stop by each month and this time we made hats with them, which the residents helped with. After all the hard work, we enjoyed some tea, orange squash and biscuits.
