Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Making Cakes
Betty enjoyed making cakes for her friends at Marnel Lodge. They were yummy!
Santa Comes to Town!
Father Christmas came to Marnel lodge recently to give out presents to Daisy Chain children. The children come each month to see residents; in December, they met Father Christmas, who gave them a present from Marnel Lodge residents. Residents also enjoyed listening to the children singing their christmas songs.
A Seasonal Gift
Mary was delighted with the gift from Oakridge Knitting Club. We all sang some Christmas carols together and had tea and homemade mince pies afterwards.
Carol Singing
Marnel School came and sang carols to us all. The residents joined in and had a lovely time seeing with the children. We all enjoyed mince pies and ginger biscuits afterwards.
Friendship Day
We invited friends and family into Marnel Lodge for a cream tea. Our chef made 90 scones for us to eat, and they were lovely.
Miller's Ark
Memory Lane had a lovely afternoon when Miller's Ark came to visit. Pam enjoyed seeing the goats and Eileen loved seeing the chickens. A little pony went up into the Memory Lane community as well. Everyone had a great time and there were lots of smiling faces from both residents and staff.
