Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Marek Manteufel & Theresa Connor
We both joined Marnel a while ago and we are very excited to be part of such a proactive and dedicated team. There are lots of ideas and innovations, all to enhance quality of life of our residents. Every day is different and to understand the needs of our residents, building relationship with them and keeping in touch with their families and friends, is the most important and rewarding job we could have wish for.

Life at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Seaside Day at Memory Lane
Our Memory Lane community had lots of fun on their seaside day at Marnel Lodge. Paper hats were made and lots of ice cream was eaten.
Scott's Birthday
Chris, one of Marnel Lodge's friends, made Scott a lovely cake as it was his birthday.
Jim's Lettuces
Jim helped pick these lovely lettuces from our garden. "Home-grown is the best," said Jim, and other residents seemed to agree with him, as they gobbled them all up in no time.
Marnel School Visits
Ten children from year 3 in Marnel School came to see us. The Children brought their favourite toy to show the residents. Gwen was very pleased to see them as she used to be a teacher. The children will be visiting us again in September.
Celebrating the Sun
It was a lovely sunny day at Marnel Lodge recently and we enjoyed a visit from Frank and his family who spent time in the garden with our PAT dog, Poppy, and Jo, her owner.
Foundation Raffle
For Care Home Open Day, Marnel Lodge held a charity raffle with loads of great prizes on offer. All proceeds will go to the Barchester Charitable Foundation.
