Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Remembering Queen Elizabeth II

Reminiscing, Celebrating the Memory and Reign of Queen Elizabeth II

During the national period of mourning, we’ve spent time reminiscing and celebrating the memory and reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Our hearts were heavy following the very sad news of Queen Elizabeth’s passing, but together we took some time to reflect on the reign and extraordinary life of our beloved Queen.

We held our own mourning service to share memories of Her Majesty; we reminisced about brighter times and our spectacular Jubilee celebrations; we had a discussion about the amazing achievements and milestones of the Queen, as well as, her hobbies, interests and inspirational reign, watched a wonderful documentary about the Queen and her remarkable life, etc..

We will keep the lovely memories of Queen Elizabeth II in our hearts forever.

BBC Look East

Very exciting day where Katherine from the BBC came in to interview our residents as we had our Therapy Ponies Charlie & Pickles in for the afternoon. Our Ponies had a lovely day getting lots of cuddles & attention. The resident’s love all our animals coming into the home & it’s good for their esteem & mental health. They came into our gardens and went in some of our resident’s room for a sneaky apple or two. Watch this space as we will be on the local news Look East in 2 weeks time once the editing has been completed.

Birthday Party!

Longueville Courts wonderful resident Hetty celebrated her birthday with her beloved family on Sunday 21st August. Our staff and family sang “Happy Birthday” at the top of their lungs and made Hetty feel like a Queen on this very special day. Her room was decorated with giant balloons and banners.  Plus Hetty had two cakes, one from the family and the other was made by our head chef Artur. We hope you had a lovely Day. Your wit, funny stories and smiles makes everyone day, and we all love you very much.

Namaste Days

We now have our weekly Namaste days, which are so much fun. From having a day at the Sea side here in the home, remembering the feeling of the sand and sea in between our toes. Going to the arcade and playing games. By law you have to have an ice cream on the front. We try to bring all those memories and feelings to all our residents to enjoy. Another Namaste day is having a luxury pamper day. With foot spars, manicures, hand, leg massages and of course manicures. We have our weekly hairdresser Emma, that comes in every Wednesday for our residents.
