Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Messing About on the Water

So today we went to Sailability Nene Park Ferry Meadows, but this week we went on a Tugger boat. Which meant we could all sail together, it even had bean bags to sit on. We were just missing a G&T!

A very chilled and relaxing afternoon chatting to our skipper Steve about the lake. Afterwards we went to the cafe for refreshments. If you’ve not done this trip before I highly recommend it. It’s a great afternoon taking in the sights.

Let's Get Physical

Group and 1-2-1 personal exercises. Some residents decided to do both. We exercised to music and also did a bit of chair aerobics with pom-poms! It doesn’t matter what your age is we all need to keep fit and keep that blood circulating.

Coffee morning at St Mary’s Church

The residents were invited to a coffee and cake morning at St Mary's Church Peterborough, what a great morning it was, full of chat and lovely cakes, and even a little dance show from our Trevor!

We all enjoyed a tour of the Church lavender, the sweet aroma was intense.

Beauty & Pamper Namaste Afternoon

There’s nothing better than having a bit of TLC and being pampered. From hand massages, foot scrubs, facials and manicures we look after everyone here. When they want to be treated like a princess our team are on hand to provide!

Loving the Lavendar

An afternoon trip to our lovely local Notcutts Garden Centres in Peterborough. Choosing roses for our garden and smelling the beautiful lavender. Afterwards we went for a cold cloudy lemonade and a very much needed ice cream.

Captivating Concorde

This week we visited Imperial War Museum Duxford courtesy of the IWM team who donated us 4 VIP tickets! It was a very special day for Bill one of our residents as he helped develop Concorde in his earlier years.

Listening to Bill talk to the engineering staff about how he worked on the nose of Concorde was really fascinating. The staff even gave our residents a VIP tour of the inside of the plane.
