Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Winnie the Pooh Day

Winnie the Pooh Day

We celebrated A. A. Milne's birthday by throwing an afternoon tea party where residents enjoyed cups of tea, Winnie the Pooh-themed cupcakes, followed by jelly and ice cream. Charlotte, our Activities Coordinator, read excerpts from ‘Hooray for Winnie the Pooh’ while our volunteers, Brenda and Jenny, made sure everyone had a tummy full of treats! A great afternoon was had by all.

New Resident at Lancaster Grange

New Resident at Lancaster Grange

Lancaster Grange has welcomed its newest resident - Otto the Rabbit. Otto was donated to the home by Pets at Home along with his new hutch and everything else required to settle him in. Otto is perfect for pet therapy and he loves nothing more than sitting on his knees and being stroked.

Employee of the Month at Lancaster Grange goes to our Home Trainer, Paul Rae.

Paul has received several nominations from the care team, as he has worked incredibly hard this month to raise the training stats at Lancaster Grange - and succeeded! He is always professional and delivers fun and interactive training to the staff. Well done and thank you, Paul.

Enjoying the Sunshine

Enjoying the Sunshine

Residents took the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine by planting some new plants in the gardens. This was followed by afternoon tea on the patio.

Open Day at Lancaster Grange

Open Day at Lancaster Grange

We opened our doors to the local community and beyond for anyone and everyone to check out our home. We hosted a plethora of activities to ensure that those who did visit Lancaster Grange had a great time here.

A Day of Remembrance

A Day of Remembrance

On June the 1st, we had a short ceremony where members of RAF Balderton laid wreaths by our water fountain to remember those who served at RAF Balderton, on which Lancaster Grange is built. This will now be an annual event. Residents and staff joined them and enjoyed tea & coffee afterwards in our café.
