Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Virtual event with vocal coach

Our homes had a fantastic time with vocal coach Mark De-Lisser as he led an amazing virtual singing session for our residents to enjoy.

Our residents were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I’m a Believer’ by The Monkees.

There were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.

Memory lane meaningful moments

This afternoon in our Memory Lane Community we had a lot of meaningful activities happening in our spacious lounge.  Listening to Abba and The Carpenters, bird watching and talks, personal, family reminiscence, sensory fun, and lots more. Our residents really enjoyed being socially active together and the bird watching talks went down a treat.

Enjoying a visit to the River at Fiskerton

A wonderful trip out to The Bromley at Fiskerton taking in the wonderful views. The village of Fiskerton is located on the West Bank of the River Trent, between the villages of Rolleston and Bleasby. It is 6 miles from Newark downstream and 12 miles from Nottingham upstream. Our residents of Lancaster Grange appreciated the sun, the scenery and the lovely company.

Our commemoration service with Balderton Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association. A unique Hurricane fly-past just for Lancaster Grange. A detailed talk about the history of Lancaster Grange from Pete Steven’s from RAF Balderton Research Group. Ending the afternoon with a garden party, with a live jubilee show with Steve Barclay. Thank you to all that attended the event, residents, family & friends made this a joyful occasion.

Carers week

Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

National Trust talk

Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.

Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters.  The talk was truly enjoyed by all.
