Activities at Kingsland House Care Home

Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.

Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.

At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.

Her Majesty's Birthday and Care Home Day

Her Majesty's Birthday and Care Home Day

Kingsland House had a truly wonderful weekend on June 12th, celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday with an indoor street party, trooping the colour entertainment, music and quizzes. Of course, we also opened our Kingsland Tavern and had some cake.

We celebrated Kingsland House's coming of age with a 21st birthday party at our joyous open day on June 17th, when we opened our in-house cinema, our Kingsland Tavern and a new Pamper Parlour. We enjoyed dancing and singing from Shay, and a great time was enjoyed by our community.

Gardening Time

Gardening Time

Our innovative sensory gardens are enjoyed hugely by residents of Kingsland House.

And now the weather is more on our side, we look forward to many an afternoon with jugs of cool refreshments.

May Employee of the Month

May Employee of the Month

Our May Employee of the Month award goes to none other than Lewis Corteil, our Gardener.

Lewis is part of our maintenance team and does an awesome job around Kingsland House's garden.

He is quite a shy guy, so getting him to believe that he won or even look into the camera was a bit of a task.

All of us in Kingsland House think he is totally terrific and we want to thank him hugely for all of his dedication and hard work.

National Nutrition Week Competition

National Nutrition Week Competition

For National Nutrition Week the highlight was our 'Top Hat and Tiara, Royal Tea Party' on Wednesday 16th where the residents had a great time listening and dancing to our record player and enjoyed The Kingsland Tavern.

We created a dance hall atmosphere and invited friends and families to what was a hugely successful afternoon, with bundles of colourful china crockery and fancy decorations.

We had snacks and cakes that were gluten free, dairy free, wheat free, sugar free .. and our chef's special modified puddings and pureed delights went down a treat, it was wonderful!
